He started to artefact a month after use, exactly a year later he died. 2k, 144mhz, 32inch. Poor quality and not reliable. Oleksandr Yagodzіnskiy: use AOC CQ32G1 more than year |
At the time of writing this review, it was the cheapest 32-inch QHD monitor. I chose specifically for games, the main selection parameters were a large diagonal, a curved matrix and 144 Hz. The appearance is simple compared to competitors, I liked the thin frames, the assembly is of high quality. I came across a monitor with one broken pixel, but since the screen is huge, you sit at a distance of at least a meter, this pixel is not visible at all. The screen surface does not glare, the color reproduction is good and uniform, but I had to tinker with the settings. High contrast, there are matrix overclocking modes, 144 Hz in games looks very cool, the picture is super smooth. The viewing angles are small, you move a little to the side and the screen is already dimmed. But I repeat, the monitor is for games and for me personally it is absolutely not critical. In general, compared to TN matrices, everything is much nicer. What they didn’t like, or rather, what they saved on for the sake of the final price: no speakers (it’s not critical at all, true gamers only in their ears), no USB hub, only the angle of inclination from the position adjustments. Actually, there is essentially nothing here, except for the screen, the model is simplified as much as possible. In general, the impressions are good, I got what I expected: curved, 144 Hz, 2K resolution and 32 diagonal. And for the money I think the purchase is successful. Large diagonal, 2K resolution, 144 Hz scan. The large curvature of the monitor adds to the sensations when playing, I really liked it. In general, good color reproduction and contrast. I also note a thin frame, from the aesthetic side it looks great. No position adjustments other than tilt angle. The height is also not adjustable. No USB hub. I understand that the model is maximally simplified for the sake of the price, but I don’t think that the same hub for a couple of ports would greatly increase the final price of the monitor. AOC CQ32G1 is one of the most affordable 32-inch curved gaming monitors in east european retail. Built on the basis of a semi-matte VA-matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels (image density 93 PPI) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It is the last point that allows us to call this monitor fully gaming.
Dive in with your head
The radius of curvature of the screen is 1800R. This, firstly, creates the effect of complete immersion of the user in the game or movie. And secondly, it solves the problem of colour inversion and geometry distortion when looking at such a large screen at close range. Whereas large flat screen monitors up close can appear domed in the centre and fade slightly around the edges.
Protects eyesight
Implemented in AOC CQ32G1 two extremely useful technologies: Flicker Free and FreeSync 2. The first eliminates the flickering of the LED matrix backlight and thus reduces eye fatigue during prolonged work at the PC. The second synchronizes the frame rate in games with the screen refresh rate (from 30 to 144 Hz), which eliminates image tearing and improves the smoothness of the picture. There are three video inputs and all are digital: a pair of HDMI version 2.0 and one Display Port 1.2. Naturally, there is no analogue VGA video interface, since it is basically not capable of transmitting such a high resolution at the same high refresh rate. But there is an analogue MiniJack audio output for headphones or speakers, if you suddenly decide to connect a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch game console to the monitor.
Blacker than the night
An eight-bit VA matrix has even deeper blacks than IPS and viewing angles of 178 degrees without colour distortion, but is still slightly inferior in colour gamut — the sRGB standard is 125 percent versus 132 for IPS matrices. However, the lag is so tiny, but we can safely recommend the AOC CQ32G1, if not for professional, then at least for amateur photo editing and video editing. And for games, especially ultra-dynamic esports, this high-frequency monitor is downright perfect. Also in the AOC range there are similar gaming monitors with smaller diagonals — AOC C24G1 and AOC C27G1.
