How to Choose a Gaming MonitorWe understand matrix types, suitable resolution, FreeSync and other important aspects when choosing a gaming monitor

Monitor matrices types: TN+film, IPS, VA, OLED, QLED and QD-OLEDCurrent types of monitor matrices, their pros and cons, as well as recommendations for selection
I chose this 22-inch AOC 22P2Q monitor, even though I was tempted by the 24-inch version... but the price was completely different. However, it wasn't the price that stopped me, but the pixel pitch (0.27), so I went for the 22-inch with a pixel pitch of (0.24) and I have no regrets! The monitor is securely packed in the box, and the accessory kit is complete with all necessary cables included. The power supply is built into the monitor, which is a plus for me! (I wasn't keen on having a separate power supply.) The monitor is just great! I specifically chose a glossy one with an anti-glare coating. Plus, it has true 8-bit color depth and a color coverage (Rec. 709 / sRGB) of 102%. The viewing angles are excellent, with high-quality and most importantly, realistic image quality. The brightness and contrast are more than enough, personally, I've reduced both to 45-50%. Text is read brilliantly, honestly, I didn't expect it to be so good and readable! As for games (I don't play much but), playing on it is a pleasure. If your computer can run at least World of Tanks or any other online game (I dabble in PUBG), go for it; everything will be great! The case is well and solidly built, with thin bezels that fit snugly against the screen. The actual appearance of the monitor is way cooler than in the photos you see online. There's a really cool and handy aluminum stand (I would say it's indispensable, definitely worth getting this type)! After 4 hours of use, the monitor doesn’t heat up at all, which is really pleasing! It also has speakers, not loud but definitely not quiet, a bit louder than my laptop, so watching movies or YouTube is no issue! (Though personally, I've been using desktop speakers for many years now.) And now the drawbacks... well, if I had to nitpick, it would be the control menu, but after a couple of practice sessions, I personally didn't have any issues. Finding my preferred brightness and contrast took some effort, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy! Overall, the monitor is just EXCELLENT and worth every penny invested. I recommend buying it! As I mentioned before, the monitor looks much better in reality! ![]() |
