High-quality 4K monitor with a large 31.5-inch thin bezel screen, excellent colour reproduction, high maximum brightness, multifunctional stand and built-in stereo speakers (2x2W). It is the flagship model for 2021, with a striking exterior design by renowned design lab Studio FA Porsche. The AOC U32U1 monitor screen is based on a full 10-bit IPS-matrix, which is capable of displaying more than a billion colours and subtle colour shades. Thanks to its high resolution, it guarantees excellent image detail (139 ppi or 54 pixels/cm) for a smooth image without pixelation and "ladders" on slanted lines. Fully supports HDR10 high dynamic range output (VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified).

1. Bright monitor with +-400 nits at maximum brightness (not to be confused with 600 nits in HDR mode). 2. Built-in sRGB profile - almost perfectly calibrated out of the box. 3. Low GLOW Effect and virtually no crystalline effect. Attached photos comparing Glow Effect AOC U32U1 and Gigabyte M32U. 1. No built-in DCI-P3 and adobeRGB profiles. 2. Brightness cannot be adjusted from the menu in sRGB mode. If you install the drivers from the monitor and the official AOC i-Menu application (look for a newer version rather than the one on the monitor's support page), you'll be able to adjust brightness directly from the computer in sRGB mode. One issue is that after every system reboot, you'll need to reset the desired brightness. Most likely, currently, the application is only available for Windows. 3. The panel is not true 10-bit, but 8-bit + FRC. This monitor is equipped with a PANEL LM315WR2-SSA1. If you're interested, you can Google this panel; it's manufactured by LG and is 8-bit + FRC. The same panel is used in the LG 32UL950, but the backlighting there is worse than in this monitor, with a stronger glow effect. And almost forgot, the retail price of this wonder panel starts at 20,000 rubles, so think about what we paid for))... 4. Defects might occur - watch for this closely. I have a panel with a defect - image retention. Attached photo. 5. Probably worth mentioning - HDR here is absolutely non-functional - the multi-zone vertical backlighting ruins everything. The monitor is great - the screen is large, it’s comfortable to watch movies and browse the internet, I don’t get too tired of my eyes, the frequency is high, the frames are thin, the coating is matte and doesn’t catch glare. The main requirements I had for the monitor were:
1. Semi-matte finish - to eliminate reflections and avoid a crystalline effect.
2. A built-in sRGB profile with precise factory calibration.
3. Coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, with future calibration and creation of a color profile.
4. I wanted true 10bit or good 8bit+frc (understanding the cost of true 10bit).
5. One of the most important parameters for me was low Glow Effect.
6. A size of 27-32 inches and preferably 4k resolution.
After reviewing all possible options and reading reviews, I decided on the AOC U32U1 model, which, according to all reviews, nearly met all the parameters I listed above. So, I decided to purchase it at AOC gaming.
After 1.5 weeks, an unpleasant bug appeared - in the form of image retention - where traces of images remain on the screen after being displayed for a long time (in my case, 10-15 minutes, and the image was imprinted).
I returned to the showroom (AOC gaming Kosmonavta Volkova, 10), and they advised me to take the monitor to their partners, the CPS-Technical Center service center.
After 8 days, they sent me an email:
"A diagnosis was performed based on this request, followed by ordering a warranty part. The ordered part is the PANEL LM315WR2-SSA1 matrix."
According to the CPS technical director, the matrix will only arrive at the service center in a couple of months. I am currently working on a return solution.
