I bought my CASIO in Slovenia for 90 euros in 2012. The main criteria were water resistance, shock resistance, good backlighting, and the presence of an alarm, chosen exclusively for working at sea. This model has all of that. The compass and thermometer are all just "bells and whistles," so to speak, a marketing ploy and they don't show accurately... I think it's all about magnetic declination, which varies everywhere and the compass requires constant correction. The thermometer is more or less accurate.
