Independent gas hob with a spacious base made of high-strength tempered glass, solid cast-iron grates and a classic 4-burner layout with a front-mounted control panel. The manufacturer is positioning itself as a product of the middle price category from the popular Gorenje Simplicity family of the 2020 model. Equipped with a convenient automatic ignition system, which is built into the rotary knobs of gas valves (just press the corresponding burner control and turn it to the desired mark).

The power and dimensions of the burners allow the most efficient use of dishes of different sizes and volumes (1x3000 W diameter 9.9 cm, 2x1800 W — 7.4 cm, 1x1050 W — 5.4 cm). The Gorenje GT 642 SYW built-in gas hob is equipped with reliable thermoelectric leakage protection (gas control system), which promptly stops the gas supply when the flame goes out. The massive cast iron ProGrid grates provide a solid support for the dishes and perfectly withstand the highest temperatures and contact with open flames. They consist of two separate sections, making them easy to load in an automatic dishwasher. Thanks to the glass base, the hob has a premium look and is easy to clean. The model belongs to the Gorenje Simplicity series, which devices offer elegant design, convenience and good value for money. And the hob is really made, as for itself. She received 4 burners with a traditional square-shaped layout and front-mounted rotary switches. Auto ignition allows you to start the work with just one hand — without matches, lighters and unnecessary manipulations. The manufacturer claims to increase the surface up to 20%, although its dimensions are quite standard — 60 cm in width and 52 cm in depth. But there is enough space here for several frying pans, and for roomy pots with a large bottom.

According to the classics, burners of different sizes: two ordinary ones (7.35 cm in diameter), one small one (5.37 cm) — for example, for Turks with coffee, and a large one with a diameter of 9.85 cm. There is no turbo burner, but the latter boasts a high power of 3 kW, so cooking is not will take a long time. Do not forget about safety: a reliable leak protection will stop the gas supply if the flame goes out on any of the burners.

Sturdy and reliable

Perhaps, in terms of design, the Gorenje GT 642 SYW will be a real godsend for a perfectionist: burners and grates are arranged as if under a ruler, every centimeter is used wisely. The colours are also classic — white and black. The latter, by the way, looks more attractive, but requires careful maintenance, since stains and dirt are clearly visible on a dark surface.

Beautiful model — high-quality materials. The worktop is made of tempered glass, which immediately dispels comparisons with old metal gas stoves and matches the modern kitchen interior. And ProGrid cast-iron gratings captivate with their massiveness and weightiness. And they are really strong and reliable: such material can easily withstand high temperatures and heavy weight and will serve you for many years.

By the way, a more expensive Gorenje GTW 642 SYW model is also available, which has the same characteristics and design, but is equipped with a turbo burner.
