1) It plays louder when plugged in, you can feel it, but it doesn't add bass.
2) It's best to use it at no more than 70% volume because after that, the speaker doesn't add more bass, and it might slightly cut it.
3) Works quite long; in mixed mode, it lasted about 17 hours.
4) There is a built-in equalizer that significantly boosts the bass, making the speaker sound different.
5) I had the BoomBox 1, and I can say that in terms of loudness, it's on par with it, but you can't cheat physics; there's enough bass, but the volume of bass from BoomBox probably isn't quite matched yet. However, it all depends on where the speaker is placed. If you put it in a corner or somewhere the bass will resonate, sometimes you even have to lower it in the equalizer because it bangs too much. So, if you place the speaker on a windowsill or on the floor near a wall and listen at 1-70% volume, the bass is sufficient, especially for its size.
