Simple open-type over-ear headphones from a well-known Japanese brand. They are positioned as a simple low-cost device of the initial price category, capable of providing basic sound quality. Equipped with 30 mm dynamic drivers, which, according to the manufacturer, reproduce the frequency range from 16 to 22000 Hz. They have a relatively flat frequency response and can be used as an inexpensive option for home or office use.
A simple adjustable design adjusts to the anatomical features of the user's head and does not cause much discomfort, the weight of 60 g after 15 minutes of use is practically not felt. Panasonic RP-HT0101 headphones have a relatively low impedance, which allows them to be used as a wide range of low-cost gadgets that lack a high-quality and powerful amplification output stage. The 120 cm reversible cable is equipped with a standard L-shaped plug with a bend compensation and a 3-pin mini-Jack 3.5 mm plug.

I have been friends with these headphones for a long time, they have been with me for about 12 years. Unfortunately, the left side of the headband cracked, and after that, they didn't fit as well. The repair didn't bring anything good. But they broke after 7 years of active daily use. I didn't think long and bought another pair, the same ones. Everything in them was just like in the first ones: sound, construction, cable length, but it became stiffer. If you fold it, it constantly unravels as it wants. This is its whim that I have to deal with. The sound, in my personal taste, is balanced. Nothing stands out too much to make it uncomfortable to listen to music, watch movies, or podcasts in the headphones. A feature is that due to the plastic headband and its small clamping force, some sound is lost. That is, if you press the speakers a little harder against your ears with your hands, it gets better. I haven't found a solution to this. Theoretically, you could make some kind of structure that would press the speakers harder against the ears, but I'm not skilled enough to design and execute that. If anyone has a truly worthwhile option, I would gladly listen. I also specifically chose the first headphones with this type of ear pads because full-size ones were uncomfortable at that time, and I didn't like the sound of earbuds at all. The foam lasted less than the headband - about 4 years. I searched for a replacement in local stores and markets for a long time, but I had to order from abroad, on a well-known Chinese marketplace. As a backup, I ordered several options, and one of them fit almost perfectly. The sound is balanced, suitable for listening to music of various genres such as synthwave, pop, folk, alt rock, club, as well as for watching movies with all those explosions, gunshots, etc. Comfortable foam ear cushions that are easy to clean. Personally, I use cotton pads soaked in regular aftershave cologne to wipe the cushions and leave the headphones to dry for a while. In case the second pair also fails, I will buy these same headphones for the third time, because for now, without a discrete sound card, the sound satisfies me 99.9%. The cable length may not suit everyone, as 1.2 meters is not that much. Therefore, it is worth considering purchasing an audio extension cable if necessary. The plastic looks and feels high quality, but durability suffers, especially with active daily use of the headphones. If you bought these headphones, start thinking about where to buy a spare pair of ear pads, because sooner or later the originals will wear out, and there is no additional pair included. At least there wasn't when I bought them. |
The most ordinary over-ear headphones. Nothing special about them. The sound quality is mediocre, to say the least. The mid frequencies are too pronounced, there are almost no low frequencies, and the highs are weak. And this is with poor noise cancellation, although it is forgivable since these are open-back headphones. But that's not the main issue. The main problem is the unreliable construction; the adjustment mechanism on the headband breaks very easily, so one should be very careful. These headphones are definitely not for children.
