Hybrid compact internal (embedded) hard drive from the family of 2.5" HDD drives Laptop Thin SSHD model 2013. This line includes 2 models with a capacity of 500 GB and 1000 GB, which are designed to solve a wide range of tasks. A distinctive feature of the model is the use hybrid design consisting of a mobile HDD and a special NAND Flash memory cache. Thanks to this arrangement and special firmware, the Seagate Laptop SSHD 2.5" ST1000LM014 hard drive combines the advantages of traditional HDD drives and SSD technologies, significantly increasing read-write speeds.
Positioned as a mid-price product, aimed at use in laptops, small desktop PCs (miniPCs), all-in-one PCs and HTPC systems. Such a drive can be used as the main (system) drive or paired with a more powerful SSD drive. Thanks to its modest overall dimensions (height 7 mm) and SATA3 interface, it is suitable for upgrading existing mobile computers. Учтите особенность данного гибрида - скорость увеличивается не сразу, а после того, как вы поработаете и несколько раз перезагрузите систему. После этого он раскеширует все что ему нужно и дело пойдет как по маслу. И я так понял, что куда лучше не переносить старую систему на новый диск, а просто установить новую. И еще не следует ждать, что пророст производительности будет во всем. Только в деле запуска системы и приложений. Скорость копирования файлов не измениться, ведь переноситься то они будут на жесткий диск, а не на SSD. Последний тут используется только для кеширования. Очень интересное решение, сама идея понравилась сразу же. Сначала хотел приобрести обычный SSD и внешний жесткий диск, но потом узнал про такие модели и уже не сомневался. Все же нормальный объём мне нужен, но SSD на 500 ГБ стоит ненормальных денег. По постоярнно пользоваться внешним жестким диском тупо неудобно. Использую в белом MacBook 2010 года выпуска. Скорость возросла довольно заметно, это я увидел сразу же. Но чудес не бывает, потом довелось сравнить производительность с таким же ноутбуком и SSD. При том, что объём оперативки у него даже меньше чем у моего, производительность все равно заметно выше. Тесты правда не производил, но оно и на глаз прекрасно видно. Сам диск тихий, его практически не слышно. Не нагревается. Стоимость вполне адекватная. Пока не обнаружил. Могу отметить только то, о чем писал в достоинствах - скорость у чистого SSD заметно выше, чем у этого гибрида.
