Flash drive Transcend JetFlash 790 64Gb. Purchased in the fall of 2019. Judging by the rave reviews of past years, it was better before... The reading speed is still high - it holds a hundred, but with recording it’s no longer a cake. At first it cheerfully shows 35-40 (about three seconds) and then sadly fluctuates 20-25... Not everything is in order with the declared size either. The system defines it as 60 Gb, but only 56Gb is available, which is less than what other manufacturers offer. In the vast majority of flash drives with a capacity of 64Gb, approximately 59Gb are available. I didn’t expect this from Transcend... The Transcend JetFlash 790 128 Gb drive is one of the most budgetary representatives on the market with a high capacity on board. It does not differ in record speed indicators, but it fully complies with the claimed parameters.
Design
The flash drive is equipped with a retractable connector with a rigid locking mechanism. Therefore, in its design there is no cap, which tends to be constantly lost somewhere. The case is made of plastic, in addition it is very light — the drive weighs a little less than 5 g. We also did not forget about the activity indicator, the role of which is played by a blue LED.
Work speed
The actual speed of the flash drive when working in the USB 3.0 interface approximately corresponds to the values claimed by the manufacturer: data is read at a speed of up to 90 Mb / s, write — up to 40 Mb / s. So, a 10-gigabyte movie in FullHD quality can be copied to a USB flash drive in 4 minutes, from it — in 2 minutes. When a drive is connected to a USB 2.0 port, the speed will drop by 3-4 times: reading data will be performed at 25-30 Mb/s, and writing at 15-20 Mb/s. Do not forget that the actual data processing speed depends on the capabilities of a particular USB controller on an external device, be it a tablet, PC or some other gadget.

Perhaps the main bonus for buyers of the drive is a lifetime warranty from a Taiwanese manufacturer, which only confirms the high quality of the flash drive and its reliability.
Over time, I found the need for a flash drive with a larger capacity, like 128 or 256 GB. After studying the market, I decided to buy the same model with 128 GB, as the price-to-quality ratio was optimal. When I connected both flash drives of this model, 64 GB and 128 GB, to the computer, I noticed that the 128 GB version lacks a light indicator. This may not be critical, but such a feature should be described when listing specifications on websites.
