Old school
Transcend SSD370S is one of the most affordable SSDs with ultra-durable planar MLC memory (three times the write cycles of TLC). In addition, the "old-school" planar MLC-memory is not subject to a decrease in the write speed of large files, which even some SSDs on the newfangled 3D MLC, such as the ADATA Ultimate SU900, sin.
Cache — do not re-cache
The "brain" of the Transcend SSD370S is the proprietary TS6500 controller, which is a software-modified version of the Silicon Motion SM2246. This is far from the most recent and progressive SSD processor, but, fortunately, unpretentious MLC memory does not need such enhanced control as TLC. Also provided is 512 MB of DDR3 RAM for caching small files.

Planar MLC memory and cache RAM had a positive effect on the speed characteristics of the Transcend SSD370S. So, the manufacturer claims 560 and 320 MB / s for linear reading and writing, but in fact the write speed is even higher — 390 MB / s without drawdowns. A rare pleasant case when the real characteristics of an SSD are higher than the documented ones, and not vice versa. The processing speed of 4K blocks is also pleasing — the same 70K IOPS for reading and writing. As a result, the Transcend SSD370S is a fast and relatively inexpensive MLC SSD in a metal case, the operating life of which, even with active use, will last at least five years.
