EcoFlow company has American-Chinese roots. It was founded in December 2016 in San Francisco, California. Its founders are a group of young engineers, some of whom previously worked for the Chinese company DJI, specializing in the production of drones. Having experience in developing miniature batteries, they decided to try their hand at creating another product – portable charging stations, designed to be an excellent solution for outdoor trips and camping.

The first product of the new brand was presented in June 2017. A successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign quickly raised more than $1 million, which was enough to launch the EcoFlow River 600W charging station, which turned out to be very successful and popular. The River line still exists today, playing an extremely important role in the development of the company.

Thanks to such significant success, the founders of EcoFlow were included in the “30 Under 30” rating from Forbes in November 2018, which includes 30 people under the age of 30 who managed to do something truly interesting, capable of influencing the development of individual regions and the whole world. And in 2019, the second product line was presented to the world, called Delta, which includes more powerful and functional, but also larger in size and weight solutions. The first device in the new line was called the EcoFlow Delta 1300, its production was funded by a Kickstarter campaign that brought in $5 million.

All EcoFlow charging stations are built using a range of proprietary technologies designed to improve reliability, durability and safety. One of the distinctive features of these devices is the ability to quickly charge – up to 80% in one hour. The company also provided a scenario for recharging portable stations using solar panels it produces – depending on the power of the devices, this process can take from 2 to 6 hours. The brand’s creations have repeatedly received prestigious awards, for example, the DELTA PRO model was included in the list of “Best Inventions of 2021”, according to TIME magazine. Their continued rise in popularity has been fueled by increased interest in outdoor recreation following the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

At the beginning of 2024, the range of products produced by EcoFlow included, in addition to charging stations, also solar panels, energy independence systems, various “smart” devices such as portable refrigerators, air conditioners and even lawn mowers, as well as all kinds of accessories. According to the company's founders themselves, their mission is to create a technologically advanced and environmentally friendly future, introducing ever new smart energy solutions for individuals, families and society as a whole. This means that the number of different products will only increase in the future.
