Model overview based on user reviews
The Corsair RMx Series New power supply is highly regarded for its powerful, quiet, and efficient performance, making it a top choice in the 80+ Gold class. It features a large number of cables and Japanese high-temperature capacitors that enhance its reliability during short power outages. The PSU includes a 140mm branded fan with hybrid mode, which remains silent under low loads and operates quietly when active. Users appreciate its ability to handle demanding setups, such as a Ryzen 2600 and RTX 3060, without issue. However, the stiff and tight cables can be challenging to manage, especially in budget or mid-range cases. Some users noted a transformer-like hum, which may be related to voltage fluctuations. Despite these minor drawbacks, the PSU is praised for its reliability and robust element base, making it suitable for both gaming and mining applications.
Pros
Cons
i use 2 of these blocks in mining, the choice was due to the good element base and price, naturally there is nothing special to choose from, the best of what is available reliable, produces the stated characteristics, in principle, that’s where the advantages end it hums like a transformer, I don’t care, but I wouldn’t install such a devilish machine in my home computer, and besides, you can’t return it under warranty ![]() |
Rigid connectors, difficult to insert/pull out, I don’t know if this is a plus or a minus. The power supply itself is small, but due to the modularity and rigidity of the wires, I had to run them through the disk tray Quiet, I was able to hear it working only after an hour under load. 80+ Gold. Lots of wires included The wires are very stiff and difficult to bend. Thick wire to the mother, only two people can close the back cover of the PC ![]() |
Reviews and feedback from foreign bloggers suggest that this PSU is a top representative in its 80+ Gold class. Here's a breakdown: CWT platform, Japanese high-temperature capacitors with a large hold-up time (26.6ms), which theoretically can help in short power outages and allow a UPS to support the PC. A 140mm branded fan from Corsair with a hybrid mode - up to 350w (for the 750w model), it doesn't turn on, and when it does, it operates quietly (Cybenetics A-). The fan itself has magnetic bearing centering, which increases its lifespan. Since I bought it for future-proofing, I haven't maxed it out, so I can't comment on the noise at full load, but it handles a Ryzen 2600 and RTX 3060 effortlessly and often doesn't even turn on the fan. The variety of cables allows connecting up to 11 SATA devices, and the power of the 3.3 and 5-volt lines (150W) enables everything to run, unlike most PSUs with 100W on these lines. The PSU's length of 150mm + 20-30mm for cables doesn't allow it to fit properly in most budget and mid-range cases. The cable lengths are sufficient to connect everything, but they are quite stiff, and near the connectors, there's an additional rigid heat shrink. Reviews mentioned a hum, like from a transformer - yes, when purchased, there was such an issue, but now everything is fine, possibly related to voltage drops in the network or coil whine. Powerful, quiet, efficient, with a large number of cables included. Tight cables, 4 connectors 8-pin GPU power on 2 cables, not 4. ![]() |

Question about Corsair CP-9020201-EU Please advise
Will it fit in the Vinga Pillar case (Midi Tower)? I have a medium PSU, BeQuiet System Power 10 650W, and the length seems to have decent clearance, but I'm not sure about the height. As for the width, there seems to be about 1 cm of space?
