Performance - my old 10400f tears it to shreds, FPS and stability in games have increased significantly. The integrated graphics allow you to finally play something, it handles PoE, Raft, and even Minecraft with a hundred mods (and that's a very resource-demanding beast, trust me), so there's plenty to play. Price - a little lower than the competitor like the 5600x, and if you take the non-K version, the offer is even more attractive. Now, it's not necessary to get a Z-chipset for fast memory; boards on B560 support its overclocking and are reasonably priced. Heating and wild consumption. The Dark Rock 4 Pro barely copes with it, even at stock, holding around 76-82 degrees in AIDA, with brief spikes to nearly 90. It doesn't particularly want to undervolt either, it seems Intel sends pretty tight chips on the lower series. Initially, a DeepCool Gammax EX 400 was installed, and with it, it managed to throttle at stock. Once again - at stock, power limits were set to Intel's. The new memory controller and its gear modes are like those on the tenth generation; you can't just plug in any high-speed stick and enable XMP. Above 3600, there's a high probability you'll have to switch to Gear 2 mode and deal with drops in memory performance, spending long evenings tweaking the timings. All that's left is for someone to release a calculator, and it will be a true Ryzen experience. Although I experienced drops at any frequency and mode until I moved from Z490 (updated BIOS for 11th generation, tried several versions) to Z590 - so much for promised compatibility, although ASRock might have messed something up. ![]() |
Bought for 6000₴ Motherboard with a B560 socket The processor is very good. But I have a 200W cooler, I unlocked the processor power consumption in the BIOS. At load, it consumes 150-170W. I recommend buying. Cost/Performance A powerful tower is needed to deliver potential ![]() |
Took 08.2021, for 6k UAH. At that time it was more profitable than the 3600x, even if you count with the motherboard. After the fufiks, I didn’t want to contact AMD again. Cold with a simple Gammaxx GTE V2. Performance is top-notch; I didn't find any tasks that would justify paying extra for an i7. The platform was more advantageous than Ryzen. Installed and forgot (sounds like a joke, but it's true, over time you want to enjoy the computer, not spend evenings in the BIOS, squeezing a few extra megahertz and running AIDA64). No ![]() |

Optimal gaming processor from the Rocket Lake family
The Intel Core i5-11600K processor is based on the Rocket Lake architecture and boasts an unlocked multiplier with manual overclocking. It is manufactured using the 14 nm process technology and is compatible with motherboards based on the LGA 1200 socket, on which the tenth generation of Intel Core was also based. Like all Core i5 chips released over the past 2 years, it is equipped with not 4, but 6 physical cores and supports Hyper-Threading core virtualization technology, thanks to which the total number of cores increases to 12 pcs. All this is seasoned with support for Turbo Boost technology, thanks to which the processor can automatically overclock to 4.9 GHz.
Flexible auto-acceleration using the Velocity Boost method
However, automatic overclocking here is not quite the same as before. Together with the 11th generation of Intel Core, the company's engineers came up with a new technology for unlimited auto-overclocking Velocity Boost. In this mode, the processor keeps peak frequencies for all cores much more stable, but at the same time, power consumption increases and the Core i5-11600K turns into a full-fledged 150-padded jacket at the level of last year's Core i7 models. Accordingly, the requirements for the system also increase - you definitely need a motherboard with a serious power subsystem and VRM cooling, and the stock cooler will have to be changed to a full-fledged tower.
Support for PCI-E 4.0 bus and DDR4-3200 memory
All this leads us to one clear conclusion - Core i5 has ceased to be office processors for several years now. We bend our fingers: we have support for the PCI-E 4.0 bus and DDR4-3200 memory, activated multithreading, improved auto overclocking and an extended power consumption limit. Well, the price has remained plus or minus at the same level as 3-4 years ago. We were able to find a brand new sample in select stores for as little as $250, making it one of the most affordable 12-thread processors on the market.
The main advantage of this processor is that you can use it until you buy a graphics card, thanks to the integrated graphics, and at the moment, this is a huge plus. For example, if you take the 5600G, it will later bottleneck any discrete card with a limited number of PCIe lanes and cut-down L3 cache - YouTube is full of tests with dismal results.
