JBL needs no introduction. Everyone knows that his portable acoustics are one of the best, but few people know that Harman Kardon also produces professional acoustics for monitoring and sounding cinemas under this brand. The JBL Studio Monitor 4306 are entry-level two-way studio monitors priced at $2,000 (per pair).

Authentic appearance

The speakers received an authentic design, but the standard dimensions for bookshelves are 278x460x300 mm. The body is made of MDF with a natural walnut veneer finish. The front of the speakers and grills are offered in two versions: blue and black; the back panel is only black.

On the front, an impressive 8-inch woofer with a white cellulose cone, two bass-reflex ports and an inch mid/high driver framed by a large horn flaunt. To adjust the MF/HF level, an attenuator is installed between the ports at the bottom of the facade. On the rear panel there is only a pair of screw terminals and a nameplate indicating that it belongs to JBL.

Sound without embellishment

The speakers operate in the range of 50 Hz — 40 kHz with band separation at a frequency of 3200 Hz. A horn high/midrange driver is the heart of the system, delivering precise, well-defined midrange and exceptionally clean highs, while an attenuator helps you tune the system to your room.

Overall, the Studio Monitor 4306 exhibits high dynamics, precision, well defined bass, natural tones and expressive power. This is the sound that not only lovers of high-quality Hi-Fi would like to have at home, but also many sound engineers in their small home studio.
