Model overview based on user reviews
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo 512 GB / 12 GB is a smartphone that stands out for its compact and ergonomic design, making it easy to handle. It offers an excellent battery life, lasting impressively long despite its smaller capacity. The phone provides a pure Android experience, free from unnecessary apps, and features a high-quality AMOLED screen with low PWM, reducing eye strain. The camera performance is decent, with features like optical stabilization and a telephoto lens, although some users report issues with the camera application lagging. Connectivity options are robust, including NFC and water resistance. However, the phone does experience some lagging issues, particularly when opening notifications and photos, and the audio recording quality is poor, affecting video recordings. Additionally, minor glitches occur due to the adaptive refresh rate, and some users experience discomfort due to PWM sensitivity. Despite these drawbacks, the phone's overall performance and features make it a solid choice for those seeking a well-rounded smartphone.

For me, this phone has only one significant drawback: a terrible microphone, which undermines about 50 of the advantages of the great camera, including the incredible front camera. But what’s the point of a camera if you can’t record decent video due to the awful sound? Forget about video from a concert. If it can somewhat handle voice, this device simply hates music. Everything will sound distorted, like on a chewed-up cassette tape. I understand not everyone knows what that is, but I can't find a better metaphor. For the rest of the parameters, the phone is a solid 4, and in some areas, even a 5. Fast, beautiful, quite ergonomic, excellent cameras, outstanding battery life. Horrible audio recording, no charger included. |
Negative compact, brav yak another phone Compactness at its best Good cameras, the presence of a x3 telephoto lens is pleasing Good autonomy (especially if you look at the battery capacity, it lasts a long time, enough for a day) Operating system without junk I took it as a second phone to the main s24ultra, and this turned out to be a drawback in terms of PWM. In Samsung, the problem was fixed (the eyes do not get tired and there is no discomfort during long viewing or reading). In Moto 50 neo with PWM, the situation is not critical for eyes sensitive to PWM. After a few days, the eyes got used to it, although this effect is felt a little. Update to Android 15 - two weeks ago an update was released that harms the phone's operation more. Everything works as before, the battery holds up just as well. But there is a problem with optimization, on the new Android 15, in third-party and system applications there are strong drops in fps (display refresh frames) from 120 to 30, it feels like. I'm waiting for the patch update, I think they will change it. Because now there is a problem with this that randomly arises The camera - it shoots well for its price, except for video (because there is no switching to different modules at 60 fps, only at 30 frames) The camera application itself works with lags sometimes (not critical, but there is not enough smoothness) It may change with updates. Currently there is no 4g aggregation on the Life operator, on Vodafone and Kyivstar everything works 4g+ ![]() |
Many in video reviews write that the video records poorly. Just disable the sound recording function in the camera settings. Then the audio recording on the video is normal without any issues like in video reviews. Pure Android. Simple without unnecessary buttons. Camera is fine. Battery lasts 6-6:30 of screen time. Also fine for such a battery. Ability to adjust refresh rate and resolution in games to save battery. Gesture features by Motorola. Sometimes due to adaptive refresh rate down to 1 fps, there are some minor glitches, but it's just to keep the battery lasting longer. ![]() |
