Took for trips to openair festivals in the summer. The tent is great. Very compact when folded. Although it was a double, three people slept in a normal position. My girlfriend and I met through mutual friends with whom I went hiking more than once. So now I needed a double tent, and even of good quality, so as not to lose face, so to speak. The Terra Incognita brand has been familiar to me for a long time, you can always choose a tent of acceptable quality at a normal price from them. So I made my choice just from their rich assortment. A full-fledged two-layer tent for hiking of any difficulty in flat and mountainous terrains. Let me just say, it's not for mountaineers, they have their own specific requirements and preferences. For hiking, weight matters and here it is quite light, only 3.5kg. If anyone thinks that's a lot, let me remind you that this isn't some sort of single-layer pathetic "cheapskate". The dimensions of the inner tent on the floor are 205x150 centimeters, meaning it's very comfortable for two people. The material of this layer is special breathable polyester. On top of it, an outer tent is stretched. This is a fabric of another kind, denser, with a waterproof and fireproof coating. All seams of the outer tent are sealed with an additional polyurethane tape, so its water resistance is very high, no downpour is a threat. There’s no need to fear the rain also because the floor is waterproof and durable. All these details are assembled together on a strong and lightweight fiberglass tubular frame. When folded, everything fits into a small compact bag sized 15x15x45cm. The smell of the new tent was "not great," reeking of some kind of synthetic petrochemical. Luckily, I noticed it in advance and aired it out well. The smell, by the way, turned out to be fleeting and disappeared in literally half a day. |
