Do not purchase these hard drives. I've gone through a dozen of these HDDs, all with the same issue: they start making clicking sounds after a year of use. I foolishly bought one myself, and after a year of usage, when it was 37% full, it started clicking and just froze. no advantages The amount of defects is just off the charts. |
I got the 2 TB model for storing photos, movies, and music. I use an SSD for the system. So it's both fast and capacious :) Hopefully, it's also very reliable. Quiet enough, it hums but within reasonable limits. No clicks. Works fast and doesn't heat up. Reasonable price. The manufacturer is listed as Toshiba, but it seems that this company just acquired the factory from Hitachi. And the latter has always been able to make good disks. It's been 4 months since the purchase. So far (knock on wood) there have been no problems at all. I really hope there won't be any.
