The AX3600 is a high-performance multi-purpose home wireless router (router) supporting Wi-Fi 7 (802.11b/g/n/ac/ax/be), MU-MIMO multi-streaming, Dual WAN redundancy and ultra-fast Ethernet networks up to 2.5 Gbps It is positioned as a mid-price product, aimed at use in a city apartment, small house or small office. It will reveal its potential with a high-speed connection to the provider’s network (from 1 Gbit/s or more).
Like other productive Xiaomi Mi routers from 2024, this model can simultaneously operate in two Wi-Fi bands (one 2.4 GHz transceiver passes up to 688 Mbps, the second operates in the 5 GHz band with 2x2 MU-MIMO and its theoretical bandwidth 2882 Mbit/s). A powerful hardware platform ensures stable connection of a large number of wireless devices. The real bandwidth of the Xiaomi Mi Router BE3600 router is enough for all typical household tasks, including viewing/streaming ultra-high-resolution video streams, video conferencing, gaming with low latency, comfortable surfing, working with multimedia files in the cloud or in NAS storage. For a high-speed connection to the provider’s network, a GbE LAN 2.5G WAN port is provided, and three GbE LAN ports will help create a local network. Four antennas, transmitter power and Beamforming technology allow the device to create impressive Wi-Fi coverage.

I purchased a Mesh Wi-Fi coverage system for my home in conjunction with another router, the BE5000, and together they manage the task remarkably well. The connection between them switches seamlessly, and the coverage is stable. The signal penetrates walls reasonably well, although the speed noticeably decreases depending on the material of the walls. I got the Chinese version, so setting it up wasn't very convenient, with the help of a browser translator. With gigabit connectivity from the provider, it delivers 500-700 Mbps on an iPhone via SpeedTest using AC, but I haven't tested WiFi 7 yet, as unfortunately, I don't have such devices yet. It consumes 12V 1.5A, and if you power it from a power bank, ordinary adapters with even 3A output don't handle it, and the router shuts off. You need a Type-C DC 4.0x1.7 mm cable and a power bank that supports 12V Power Delivery. By the way, in the higher 5000 model, the consumption is 1A. Overall, the model is decent, especially considering its price-to-functionality ratio.
