An affordable gaming graphics card with a dual-slot cooling system and overclocker profiles that are activated using the AORUS Graphics Engine application. It is distinguished by the use of an improved PCB design with a reinforced power subsystem and the presence of factory overclocking profiles. It is positioned as a product of the basic price category, focused on use in low-cost gaming systems and multifunctional home PCs equipped with FullHD-resolution monitors.
Able to provide a consistently high frame rate in the vast majority of games in 2015-2020 at a resolution of 1920x1080 at high or medium-high graphics settings. It is equipped with a proprietary Windforce 2X cooling system with 6 mm heat pipes, an advanced two-section aluminium radiator and two quiet 80 mm fans. Such a cooler easily handles with standard heat dissipation (up to 120 W) and is able to cope with moderate overclocking.
At the heart of the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6G graphics card is an Nvidia GP106 GPU (Pascal microarchitecture) coupled with 6GB of GDDR5 graphics memory, which enables highly detailed and realistic-looking HD textures. The card is equipped with an additional PCI-E 6-pin connector and does not impose high requirements on the system power supply (from 400 W and above). Supports VR headset connection.
Always clarify the specifications and configuration of the product with the online store manager before purchasing.

Top for your money price (was bought for 8000 in 2018), performance (almost all games up to 2020 run at maximum, and those after also run but not at max settings), when the cooler spins slowly it is quite silent, (Forza Horizon 4 (maximum settings), Forza Horizon 5 (medium-low settings), MFS2020 (medium-low settings), Fortnite (high-maximum settings), Scrap Mechanic (maximum settings), Sea of Thieves (high settings), GTA 5 (maximum settings) with all games at least 60 FPS), has H264 codec (new), Nvidia GeForce Experience. plastic (you can bend it with your fingers, but you will often take it by hand? such a minus), make noise on the big cooler wraps ![]() |
Card with factory overclocking (OC prefix). It came with a defect. One fan ran at 100% speed from the start and wasn't adjustable. Repaired under warranty. Seems all okay now. Three weeks in - everything is fine. Quiet card. Fan activation and curve settings can be adjusted using the MSI Afterburner software. The adjustment works wonderfully. Overclocked by an additional 180 MHz on the processor and 130 MHz on the memory. Didn't push further because I saw no point. Returned to factory settings as I've capped FPS at 60 in games. I don't need higher for now. But, there is room for more. Playing on Ultra in WOT and Battlefield 1. Card's temperature with a closed case is max 72-73°C at standard speeds. With an open case - up to 65-66°C. Adjusted the curve manually to not exceed 60-65°C under max load and barely audible noise, all with the case closed. Found a balance. Nothing is rattling (chokes, etc.), no crunching (in fans). Memory turned out to be Hynix—whatever, not a miner anyway. Motherboard ASUS Z77PRO, Intel 3570K processor, 8GB 1600 RAM, 750W PSU, 120GB SSD, case and CPU fans by Noctua. Processor 3570K loads this card 98-100% without overclocking in games. Replaced the Radeon 7870 with a GeForce GTX 1060. The fans turn on after 50 degrees (factory settings).. A small factory overclocker in this version. Not a bad and interesting cooling system. Acceptable price. Memory 6 Gb. 4+1 power phases, shortened version (length) between the single-fan and full-fledged gaming version. I understand that there are defects with fans, but they can happen with any manufacturer. In the store, before purchasing, immediately ask for a test and inspection, so that later you don’t have to drive the warranty all over the country (in case something happens). By the way, the factory does not put any seals on the cards. use Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6G less than month |
With thoughts of tomorrow
The six-gig modification of the Gigabyte GTX 1060 WindForce 2 OC is a graphics card, so to speak, with a reserve for the future. Thanks to the large amount of video memory, it, paired with a Core i5 Coffee Lake, Core i7 Kaby Lake or Ryzen 5 processor, allows you to unscrew the settings at FullHD resolution in current games, if not to the maximum, then at least close to them. If you wish, you can play around with 2K and even 4K resolution (including NVIDIA DSR software), but in this case, the settings will have to be lowered to medium, or even minimal. In future games, already having a powerful processor, it will be enough to upgrade only the graphics card and continue playing at maximum speeds.
No overpayment for design
The appearance of the GTX 1060 WindForce 2 OC is instantly recognizable as a mid-range Gigabyte graphics card. There are two fans, but there is only one heat pipe, and there is no backlight, at least one-colour, not to mention custom RGB. Models with an emphasis on decor Gigabyte recently moved to a separate sub-brand Aorus. And, perhaps, this is even good, as it had a positive effect on the cost of the GTX 1060 WindForce 2 OC.
Volcanic impact
The weak point of the GeForce GTX 1060 compared to the competing Radeon RX 580 is DirectX12 and Vulkan graphics modes. Although they are supported, when switching to them from the classic DirectX11, the frame rate in games does not change at best, and at worst even drops a little. Whereas the RX 580 gets an FPS increase of 5-10 percent. However, the loss is small, because in current games the picture quality between DirectX11 and DirectX12/Vulkan is almost the same.
