Number one in the Ampere line
The eldest card in the Ampere family, the GeForce RTX 3090 received a GA102 graphics processor with 5248 CUDA cores and 28 billion transistors, a 384-bit memory bus and hitherto unseen 24 GB of video memory with a theoretical bandwidth of 936 GB / s. All this goodness is equipped with three 8-pin connectors for additional power supply, since this monster consumes 350 watts of energy in the reference version. MSI hasn't revealed the cards on this, but the numbers are likely to be the same.
Backplate, RGB lighting and proprietary cooling system
As for the GAMING X TRIO version from MSI, it offers an updated design of the TRI FROZR 2 cooling system with several massive heatsinks and a trio of unusual TORX Fan 4.0 fans. Their trick is that the blades of the turntables are in some cunning way combined in pairs, thereby increasing the overall efficiency. At least when compared to the previous generation TRI FROZR. Due to its massiveness, the card was equipped with a stiffening plate to prevent the board from bending. Well, without RGB-backlighting for a product of this class now nowhere, so it's here.

In preliminary tests, it managed to counter the RTX 2080 Ti in two games, one of which was Minecraft. In it, the novelty overtook the former leader exactly twice. In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, the increase was smaller, but also very close to a twofold jump. It is worth noting that ultra-settings and ray tracing were used in all games. According to NVIDIA, the new RTX 3090 is perfect for 8K gaming.
