The MSI branded 27-inch curved monitor is part of the 2023 Optix lineup, bringing together balanced gaming solutions. The model is based on an 8-bit VA matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, which provides a moderately detailed image with a pixel size of 0.23 mm. The gaming status is emphasized by the minimum response time of 1 and 4 ms (MPRT and grey-to-grey, respectively) and the fast refresh rate of 170 Hz.
In addition, the latest AMD FreeSync Premium video synchronization technology is supported to eliminate tearing and other artifacts in dynamic scenes. The MSI Optix G27CQ4E2 monitor also has decent static contrast ratio (3000 to 1), so it is suitable for watching movies or TV shows in a dimly lit room. But in intense lighting, glare is possible, because peak brightness is at a base level of 250 nits. Other advantages of the image include high-quality color reproduction and a wide color gamut (covering 114% of the sRGB space). Maximum throughput is ensured by connecting the model using the DisplayPort v 1.2 interface, while using one of the two HDMI version 2.0 you can display an image in the 2560x1440P@144Hz format.

I have been using the monitor for over a year. At first I connected it to a PC via DisplayPort - frequency 165Hz, resolution 2K, everything as stated. I felt great in games. After switching to a laptop, I connected it via HDMI, and the frequency reached 144Hz, so keep that in mind. This is a feature of the model. I did not find a single dead pixel on my copy. A bunch of different settings through the menu, which is controlled by a small joystick on the back, there is even an alarm clock ) FreeSync and HDR technologies are present, but I did not test them, there is no need. For those who connect to ecoflow and analogues, there is an ECO mode, which allows you to work, reducing energy consumption Bright picture, 165Hz refresh rate, external power supply, ECO mode, stylish metal leg Inability to adjust the height on the standard leg, lack of Ukrainian language in the menu, no Type-C |
i don’t recommend it on a weaker PC because the fresink works to finish crookedly, after 144Hz there is no fire, well, if the system is weak, it won’t reach the price of hertz, well, the tirering is present here, unfortunately For my system (4080) I won’t buy anything more expensive and connected to an IPS matrix with official G Sync price, for the range 3060-4060 please go frisk, and when working hard, my eyes hurt ![]() |
I am very satisfied with the monitor! I was thinking for a long time whether to constantly run it in "DP overclocking" mode or not, and whether it would affect the power consumption level and the matrix's lifespan, but then I decided to constantly use it in this mode, and the 170Hz refresh rate at 2K resolution is really cool! :) As for HDR, I didn’t really like that the ability to manually adjust brightness and contrast is disabled. :( That's why I don’t use HDR, or only occasionally turn it on for some games, but for just the system, I want to reduce the brightness, but it's not possible... Moreover, it has an incredibly convenient settings adjustment joystick. And I would also note the build quality and materials... It seems MSI is confidently gaining momentum in the hardware market. Update frequency, price, joystick adjustment, adjustment, folding capacity and materials. not revealed ![]() |
