I can’t give a recommendation, since I chose it myself based on the picture (by appearance) and power. It fits me. Only that you can see how the unit works via USB. It’s convenient that there are sockets installed, it stands on the table, and it doesn’t spoil the view. I don't know yet. But I had to take a second one, since the first one failed immediately after charging the batteries. Okay, they replaced it. The new one has been working for a week now. We'll see later. Small UPS with three outlets
The Powercom WOW-500U is a very simple UPS. It has only three sockets (two with a reserve and one regular), as well as RJ-45 ports and a USB communication connector for “communicating” the device with a computer. A battery with a capacity of 3.3 Ah is enough to provide about 10 – 15 minutes of battery life for a typical office or home computer with a small monitor. Spare batteries for this UPS are commercially available and are not too expensive (about $25). All sockets have "curtains". They serve as protection against children and prevent dust from entering the case. When powered by the Powercom WOW-500U is virtually silent, making it great for use in a small room. Thanks to the built-in surge protection that "absorbs" power surges, this UPS can be used where the quality of the power supply leaves much to be desired (in the country house, in the private sector or in the countryside).
Saving is not always good
This UPS has a "power saving function" (Green Mode), which means that when the load is less than 25 W, the device automatically turns off 4 minutes after the loss of electricity. This "economy" can be turned off by some manipulation of the buttons, but this does not always work correctly. Therefore, you should not use the Powercom WOW-500U for backup power to low-power consumers, such as routers or alarms.
Plug-and-forget UPS
Powercom WOW-500U has been produced for more than 10 years, but still remains a relevant and popular device. It is inexpensive, but at the same time durable and reliable (Powercom uninterruptible power supplies generally have very good reviews). This UPS is perfect for those who do not want to buy a "pig in a poke" and do not chase advertised new products, but prefer time-tested equipment.
