Great device for your money

Took it as a replacement for the TP-Link WR1043ND router. The apartment layout is complex, and the router was located at the front door, which resulted in a speed of 1 Mbps or less in the farthest room where the laptop and phone are. After installing the unit and node in the same place, the speed is now a stable 40 Mbps (i.e., 40 times stronger!). I decided to try without this node, and the speed is about 15-20 Mbps. I thought about getting a stronger router than the previous one, but this mesh system is just TOP. Sometimes I even go and check the speed every hour because it's unbelievable :)))

The app's functionality is extensive enough for both regular users and those who want something more. The main unit hardly heats up, but the node is always warm.

Get it, you won't regret it.

good model, like it

Having bought a replacement for my WR1043ND rev.1. Connected, phoned to the provider, replaced the MAC address, but the Internet did not show up. Reset, reconfiguration, different connection options - nothing gave any result. So fooling around for 3 evenings (following robots). On the third day, having connected the system to the chain after the old router, and lo and behold, everything worked. Why can't MW5 be used as the main router - I don't know if it works for creating an alternative WiFi network in the house (the old WiFi is still working, but I plan to vimikati). I'm shaking to the point that it's still a problem with the provider, but I can't figure out the Mech-system. So I mean a little bit of a non-handy appendage for fixing. You can't fix the system without an Internet signal, it's possible to recognize the internal settings, such as WAN MAC addresses, router IP addresses, etc. I don't know why I didn't know how to enter the WEB-menu from the computer's browser using the IP address, but the addition for the first setup is not particularly handy.
I’ll say that WiFi works with a bang, and without turning the system back to the store. In me, the channel is up to 100Mb, and Speedtest via WiFi shows the speed of 120-130Mb. Sounds like speed - I don’t know if I need it)) (the old router saw up to 20Mbps via WiFi)

Dual band operation

The system broadcasts in two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. In the first case, the peak data rate threshold is 300 Mbps, in the second — 867 Mbps. The main block of the kit is a small "cube" with dimensions of 93x91x91 mm. On the receiving side of the module, there are two gigabit WAN/LAN and LAN ports. The additional node plugs directly into a 230 V socket and is equipped with a LAN port for wired connection of a desktop computer.

Mobile app

To set up the connection, the user will need to download and install the Tenda Wi-Fi application on the smartphone. It provides intuitive functions for configuring, creating a guest network, parental control settings. Also, new nodes are included in the system through the menu. Their maximum number reaches six, so that a wireless network can be deployed over an area of over 500 m². In a configuration with one signal amplifier, the MESH system works to serve a "square area" of about 300 m².
