Expected MORE for this price. The sensitivity of 4G is worse than that of a phone. Regular external antennas are rather weak (you will have to buy external ones). Inconvenient switching LAN - 4G (I wanted at least a button or automatically: by signal strength or traffic) removable antennas with the ability to connect cables to external ones. 1) Low reception sensitivity for 3G and 4G - worse than a phone; 2) Weak amplification with built-in antennas; 2) Inconvenient input switching: LAN - 4G (only from PC). ![]() |
Launched into operation effortlessly (SIM card must have the PIN code request disabled beforehand). Performs its primary function without issues. The signal is excellent, eliminating the need to run a wire to my desktop computer and providing a good premise for the further use of sockets, lamps, and other smart devices on both floors of the house. The house, by the way, is in a rural area, so it's important to me that the router will work properly during power drops down to 170-160 V - this is our unfortunate practice :(( Due to the low friction in the swivel joints of the antennas, they can either stand vertically or, with a slight tilt, "fall" to a horizontal position under their own weight. Did not notice any possibility to fix this. Overall, everything corresponds to the router description here on the site. Ease of getting started Wide input voltage range of the network adapter 100-240 V Strong signal and internet speed in all corners of a two-story house Expensive The signal in the yard is somewhat worse than expected Not good enough fixation of the detachable antennas (a minor flaw that doesn't really affect performance) ![]() |
LAN+LTE
TP-LINK Archer MR400 is a universal dual-band router, one of the main features of which is a built-in LTE modem that allows you to plug a 3G or 4G card into it and use it outside the city where there is no normal connection, and providers do not stand in lines. The Archer MR400 uses three internal antennas for LAN, and two more detachable antennas for LTE reception. The speed indicators are as follows: 400 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band, and 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. The maximum speed of a 4G connection will be 150 Mbps, but in fact in our realities it turns out to be an order of magnitude lower. However, for the “out of town” option, 40-50 Mbps is enough for surfing the net and watching streaming video in FullHD.
Simple and clear mobile application
Aside from LTE, the beauty of this router is the ease of setup through the mobile app. Initially, you are prompted to choose one of several configuration options — from simple, turn it on and go, to more sophisticated, focused on advanced users. If the most advanced third level is not enough, then you can dive into the abyss of web interface settings. To distribute traffic from a SIM card, you don’t need to do anything at all, just insert the card into the tray, and the router will pick up the settings itself.
LAN port 100 Mbps
Of the minuses of the model, we highlight the modest network settings and the LAN port, which is not able to work with a stream above 100 Mbps. Given that gigabit providers are no longer exotic, this is a clear omission. Moreover, the Archer MR400 costs a little over $100 and clearly does not fit into the category of low-cost routers. Therefore, we can recommend it first of all to those who live in the "at home — out of town" mode or suffer from regular network outages and are looking for an additional backup in case of loss of connection.
