I have been using the TP-LINK Archer C80 router for several months now and I can share my impressions. It is quite a powerful device that copes with all the tasks that I put before it. It is well suited for normal home use, working with multiple devices and watching videos in HD/4K quality. However, for those who want a future-proof solution or maximum speed at all distances, it is better to pay attention to models with Wi-Fi 6 support. Speed and stability The Archer C80 supports the Wi-Fi 5 802.11ac standard, and in practice I got a very stable connection over long distances around the house. Data streams don't drop even when I'm transferring large files or watching 4K videos.
Convenient setup Setting up the router takes a few minutes thanks to an easy-to-understand interface. I connected it via the TP-Link Tether app, which allows for quick settings without the need for a PC. Coverage Thanks to four antennas, network coverage in a large area of 2-3 rooms is stable, which is important for me, since I have a multi-room apartment. Multiple devices Archer C80 works efficiently with multiple devices simultaneously. I have connected several smartphones, laptops and even a smart TV and the router does not fail even when all devices are actively using the Internet. Price For this level of features, this is one of the best options at a reasonable price. Not the highest speed on 5 GHz Although in general the router works well, the speed on the 5 GHz frequency does not always correspond to the declared values, especially at a distance of more than 5-7 meters from the router. This can be a problem for large homes or offices.
Lack of Wi-Fi 6 support Although the router supports the Wi-Fi 5 standard, it does not have Wi-Fi 6 support, which makes it less promising in the future for users who plan to upgrade their devices to new standards. Design The design may seem a bit bulky and not very aesthetic for those who are looking for more stylish and compact devices. Its large antennas take up a lot of space on a shelf or table. Super router. The apartment is 60 square meters. covers the whole The signal level in all corners is 5 out of 5 divisions.
