I bought a Gigabyte G750H to replace it for my assembly and went nuts from the level of silence that this power supply shows. Well done Germans, they did everything very high quality inside and out. Used the 650W model for three years until suddenly it just shut down under load and wouldn't turn on again. The total estimated maximum load of the system is close to 650W. Working time under heavy load is about 3-4-5 hours + 3-4 hours in very light load per day. Burned without special effects, without smell, just turned off with the ends. I sent it under warranty to the service center, where they could not repair it and offered to replace it with a BN284 (850W) literally immediately in 2-3 days. I was surprised by such a decision, because the BZ looked like new, and I had the opportunity to wait 2 weeks for repairs. What could have broken so irrevocably and without external manifestations remains a mystery. Perhaps there were no masters in SC due to the military-political situation... Can you be quieter?
By creating the Be quiet brand, the German company Listan GmbH decided to occupy an interesting niche of elite and almost silent power supplies. With a combination of premium circuitry and acoustic comfort, their products are equally in demand among gamers-enthusiasts and pros working with audio and video content. So the Straight Power 11 model became a hit for a reason, because it is one of the quietest computer power supplies with an 80+ Gold certificate and a power reserve of 750 watts. Its proprietary 14 cm Silent Wings 3 fan with hydrodynamic bearing barely emits 9 dB of noise that is indistinguishable to the ear at idle, and at peak load it starts to barely noticeably rustle (less than 21 dB).
Japanese capacitors and maximum protection
The advantages of this model also include high stability of output voltages, the presence of all types of protection and a completely changed circuitry compared to Straight Power 10. If earlier Taiwanese capacitors were used, then this time we see durable Japanese Nippon and Rubycon capacitors. An interesting feature was the division of the main 12-volt line into four sub-lines: the first feeds the motherboard and peripherals (disks, fans), the second processor, the third and fourth — video cards. On the one hand, this made it possible to achieve better voltage stabilization, on the other hand, it will not allow installing a couple of very “gluttonous” video cards into the system.
This is Love
On other fronts, Straight Power 11 also claims a medal and declarations of love: it has a fully modular structure, all cables are braided and with such a margin of length that it is enough for any case, there are four 6 + 2-pin connectors for video cards and a whole pack SATA and Molex connectors for connecting any peripherals. Well, the five-year warranty sets in a positive way. Of course, the price for this stuff will be higher than for 750-watt models from the conditional Chieftec, but it seems to us that talking about overpayment is not appropriate here. Still, this is a slightly different level, and the quality of Straight Power 11 speaks for itself.
Everything is fine, it came new in sealed packaging via NP.
Quiet, the relay click is inaudible in the room (it is very quiet on its own). Haven't given it a proper load yet, don't have the means, it's in a PC with a load up to 350 watts. The 12V, 5V, and 3V lines do not sag, the values are stable with a margin.
I'll add a comment later after installing in a new computer.
