The tiny lens belongs to the category of so-called "pancakes," characterized by a flattened body shape. The model's dimensions measure just 23.5 mm in length and 70 mm in diameter. The lens weighs 125 g. It is suitable for use on full-frame and cropped mirrorless cameras with a Nikon Z mount. On a full-frame sensor, the lens provides a fixed focal length of 26 mm, and on cameras with an APS-C sensor, this value increases to approximately 39 mm.

The model uses a classic 7-blade diaphragm with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The optical design of the "pancake" includes 8 elements in 6 groups, 3 of which are aspherical lenses. In such a compact body, they managed to fit an All-Element Focusing System with an STM stepping motor. Focusing is possible from a distance of 20 cm. The lens features only an electronic focusing ring for controls. However, it can be programmed for other functions from the compatible camera's menu.
