The flagship of OnePlus in 2021, whose main feature is the camera, first developed in collaboration with the Swedish camera and equipment manufacturer Hasselblad. It consists of four modules: a 48 MP sensor with optical stabilization and the ability to record 8K video at 30 frames per second, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, an 8 MP telephoto lens, and an additional 2 MP sensor for monochrome photos.
The 16-megapixel front camera is located in a small circular cutout in the corner of the large 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display that supports HDR10+ and has an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. As expected of a flagship, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with excellent features that ensure high performance. These include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an NFC chip for contactless payments, two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The body combines a glass back cover and a metal frame protected from water and dust according to IP68 standards, which means it can even withstand brief submersion in water at shallow depths. Power autonomy is provided by a 4500 mAh battery with support for 65W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. However, there is no slot for a memory card or a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The phone is good at a cost of 48k. When it entered the market, it cost about 100k, and it is clear that many are dissatisfied with it, it clearly does not reach 100k. Many bugs went away with the update, which is good news. Everyone says that it has flexible customization settings, but nothing too unusual can be implemented on MIUI, I think more. Screen, vibration, form factor, flagship, ip68, video recording, laser autofocus. Battery. I take a lot of photographs and took it as a camera phone, and there won’t be any really good photos without dancing with a tambourine. We are talking about Hasselblend, they say the matrix was set up by these comrades and again BUT their settings only work in pro mode and if you have time to tinker with a DSLR, then the photos will be bomb. in pitch darkness with ISO turned up to maximum and shutter speed 30 s. capable of taking detailed photos. and the minus is the automatic post-processing by the phone itself. It feels like the camera is sucking all the power from the 888. I took a picture, processing is in progress and at this time the smart watch comes unstuck (fortunately it quickly connects again). You close the camera with a gesture and see the phone freeze for 1-2 seconds. and this is 888 snap and the camera is original... probably a bug. ![]() |
I bought it to replace an outdated but very good Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone. To say that I am happy with the purchase is to say nothing. 9 Pro is worth every penny, considering that it now costs 6k rubles cheaper in any configuration relative to the start of sales. For 47–51k rubles you will get absolutely everything and even more. I advise you to take it in green, since the back cover is matte and therefore not easily soiled. For me this is a dream smartphone. I highly recommend purchasing. For THIS money you won't find anything better, IMHO. — Screen. One of the best screens on the market at the time of release. 2K, 120 Hz, 525 PPI, HDR 10+, slightly curved edges (for most, this is a drawback, but for me, it is absolutely not critical, no false touches ever occurred). — Performance. Snapdragon 888, Adreno 660, LPDDR5 RAM (fastest), built-in UFS 3.1 (fastest). What can I say? This performance will be enough for the next 5 years, if not more. — Camera. It's Hasselblad, and it's wonderful, even better with Google Camera. Overall, all flagships now shoot at approximately the same level. It all comes down to which brand you prefer. — OxygenOS System. The famous OxygenOS or its Chinese counterpart ColorOS. Virtually stock Android 11 out of the box. It works extremely fast and smoothly. The system design is very pleasant and easily customizable. — Design. "10 out of 10 oh my gosh," IMHO. — Autonomy. Obviously, if you're getting a phone with such a screen, you'll be using it to the fullest. It lasts for 5-6 hours of active use at 2K resolution and 120 Hz. In a more economical scenario, it lasts from 8 AM to 10 PM. — Other features: excellent connectivity, no dropouts anywhere, 3G, 4G, 5G, NFC, excellent stereo sound, aptX HD, fast wired (65W) and wireless charging (50W), and there's also reverse charging (10W; you can charge your headphones or another smartphone with your smartphone, if it has the same feature), IP68 water and dust protection, and an absolutely perfect vibration motor that greatly enhances the experience. I have no disappointments regarding this smartphone, and I can't imagine having any. It's one of the best phones in the world, with absolutely everything you need for everyday life. However, I must mention the cons: — Snapdragon 888. This is a failed chip in every aspect. Only someone completely out of touch with technology wouldn't know this. It does have sufficient throttling, but during non-intensive tasks, there are no FPS drops or lags. The heat is the bane of this chip. Everyone who cares complains that it can supposedly cook an egg. Maybe that's true, but even for me, the heating never exceeded 42° under peak load. So it all depends on the usage conditions. — System optimization and bugs. Yes, that's correct. You'd think it's OnePlus, and they always had this part down. But this time, something went wrong. There are many posts on OnePlus forums about this topic, feel free to read them in your spare time. However, they should roll out a major fix list in the upcoming Android 12 update, so I'm hopeful for the best. These are essentially the two main drawbacks of the smartphone, one of which you have to simply accept, and the other, I hope, the phone will soon get rid of. use OnePlus 9 Pro 128GB few months |
OnePlus - One of the best flagships on the market. I've been following it since the 7th generation, it's quite impressive. A flagship that does not follow trends like iPhone (which stopped including the power cable in the box). A worthy competitor to other flagships. Basically, that's it. The phone impressed me, but there are drawbacks that I discussed below. The camera is really good (Samsung and iPhone pale in comparison). The amazing 4500 mAh battery and equally amazing Fast Charge (You come home, put the phone on charge, go for a 20-minute tea break, and when you return, you already have at least 50%), opens up so many possibilities. Finally, you can use maximum brightness without worrying about the battery. Very pleasant OneUI, which is much nicer than Samsung's standard interface. The glass is of incredible quality, very smooth to the touch (it's a pleasure to slide your finger across the surface), HasselBlad did a good job. The only disappointment was the protective film that was directly applied to the phone, which tore in the second week of use (I'm sure I just got a defective one). I don't understand people who say it heats up while gaming, because mobile games are completely bottom-tier. Many people who use phones like this are not interested in games. ![]() |
Hasselblad Camera
The main feature of the flagships of OnePlus 2021 are cameras developed in collaboration with the famous Swedish brand Hasselblad, which has been engaged in photographic equipment for more than a century and a half. The company was screaming about the new collaboration on every corner and devoted a lot of time to it at the presentation. But it turned out that the role of Hasselblad in the development of cameras is not so significant: if, for example, Huawei uses Leica optics in its smartphones, then OnePlus from Hasselblad got only software. To be more precise, the Swedes were engaged in colour correction and professional mode settings, which only the Pro model has.
The main camera of the smartphone includes a 48MP sensor that takes the lead role, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a secondary 2MP sensor for black and white shots. Claimed optical stabilization, 3.3x zoom and video shooting in 8K at 30 frames. Probably, the most hyped collaboration with Hasselblad played against OnePlus here. Of course, the colours are excellent, but, in general, many expected more from the camera. Perhaps, only the “width” deserves praise, which is not inferior to the main sensor, but otherwise the camera is good, but far from the best. And although the smartphone still didn’t get into the TOP-10 of the DxOMark rating, it has a rather high score of 124 points, and this is even more than the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Therefore, the OnePlus flagship deserves a place in our selection.
Everything you need and even more
But not only the camera boasts OnePlus 9 Pro. In general, this is a well-balanced flagship with top-end hardware and a pleasant price tag, the performance of which will last for years to come. Almost the entire front panel is occupied by a 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display with high resolution (3216x1440), pixel density (525 ppi) and dynamic frequency change from 1 to 120 Hz, which significantly saves battery power. For example, in Always On Display mode, the frequency drops to 1 Hz, and when you start the game, it gives out its maximum rate for a smoother picture. The 16-megapixel selfie camera is located in a neat round cutout, and the screen has slightly curved edges — to the delight of many users, manufacturers refuse to display "waterfalls" with sharp curves, so there should be less accidental clicks and glare. The display of the smartphone is really excellent, which is confirmed by the high A + rating from DisplayMate experts.
The device is based on the top-end Snapdragon 888 processor, which, alas, is notorious for its “ardent character”. And although the smartphone has liquid cooling, it still heats up, although not critical — you can hold it in your hand, and the case does not burn like a hot pie straight from the oven. The base version includes the required minimum of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. But keep in mind that there is no slot for a memory card, and you should not blame the model for this. The lack of the ability to expand the memory and 3.5 mm audio jack is no longer a disadvantage these days, but a trend that can only be put up with. Complementing the picture is 5G support, IP68 water and dust resistance that allows short dives under water, a glass body with a metal frame, an in-display fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers.
Finally, the icing on the cake is a dual battery with a total capacity of 4500 mAh, which provides more than a day of battery life. First, it supports 65W fast wired charging, which takes about half an hour to fully charge the battery. Secondly, the charger is included in the kit — yes, yes, Apple, this is a stone in your garden. Thirdly, there is also a fairly fast 50W wireless charging. Perhaps, only reverse charging is missing for a complete set, but this is already a wish, not a complaint.
