An entry-level steam iron positioned by the manufacturer in an affordable price segment. The model can serve as an excellent choice for those who iron infrequently and in small volumes. The main advantage of the device is its affordable price. The ironing system received a large non-stick non-stick soleplate. The Philips EasySpeed GC 1740 steam iron handles both delicate and coarse fabrics with ease.
The extended Triple Precision nozzle gives you the ability to iron in the most hard-to-reach places. The model can be ironed with steam. In this case, the density of the steam shock is 90 g / min, and the density of steam with continuous supply is 25 g / min. This is enough to easily and quickly smooth out persistent naughty creases. The power of the ironing system reaches 2000 watts. The volume of the steam generator reaches 220 mL. The iron reaches operating temperature in just 30 seconds. In this case, the low-cost model gives odds to many more professional and expensive counterparts.

I bought it after the GC2510 - which I purchased in 2012 and it's still working, but I wore out the soleplate for production purposes. I especially liked the soleplate on the old one - it glides amazingly, everyone who tried it noticed. The old one had a non-stick soleplate, so I was looking for the same, plus the soleplate was metallic, I dropped it twice and my wife once, and it didn’t affect it, while ceramic ones tend to break, so this was the second criterion for choosing this model. The difference is that the new soleplate is smaller, but overall it's even more convenient for ironing. There's less steam, but it doesn’t bother much, it still irons well. The price is low - read reviews on expensive models - they leak, stop turning on, and other issues which I find inexcusable for a price of 5-7k. Oh, and the cord only moves up and down here, while the old one had a ball that rotated in different directions. It doesn't bother me yet, but we'll see. The plastic doesn't creak, just like in the old one. Overall, a decent replacement. The only thing I miss is the auto-off function, as I forgot to turn it off a couple of times, thankfully everything turned out fine. All irons with the auto-off function seem to have ceramic plates, so I didn’t want to get them. Smooth operation, perfect weight, non-stick metal, price The steam could be 30 instead of 25, no auto-off feature. |

a budget model from one of the best home appliance manufacturers. It may not have any super abilities, but this iron is quite suitable for home use. It is lightweight, weighing less than a kilogram. But that doesn't mean it irons poorly. It handles all kinds of fabrics, and you can press anything from a chiffon blouse to a parka made of dense fabric. It doesn't require any particular effort or pressure. The necessary effect is achieved through temperature. Moreover, the regulator doesn't look like those on Soviet irons, where there were just three dots and that's it. Here, in addition, fabric types are indicated alongside their corresponding temperature levels. In cases where high temperature is insufficient, I use steam or even a steam shot. I don't know what system is used here, but scale doesn't fall out onto the clothes or leave dirty marks (this used to happen often with old irons). The non-stick coating seems to be of quite good quality. When my husband helps, he tends to overdo things sometimes))) but not with this iron. After a year of active use, I have never had to clean it from any burnt residue; it simply doesn't burn. There is a scale cleaning system, which is quite simple but doesn't affect the essence. It's definitely a useful function. Not a bad iron, nothing to complain about. non-stick coating, descaling i don't see ![]() |
