Let us immediately pay attention to the high efficiency rate (99.5%), which, on the one hand, characterizes the model as a very effective solution, and on the other hand, is a completely classic indicator, as for electronic boilers. At the same time, this model is designed for connection to a three-phase network (400 V), and the rated current consumption is 20 A. The useful power of this particular modification is 12 kW, the control panel is equipped with a convenient display, a smooth modulation system, as well as the necessary set of protections, including from water overheating, power outage, freezing of liquid in the circuit, etc.

I bought it as a reserve for a solid fuel boiler, otherwise sometimes it’s not possible to deliver coal at a reasonable price in time, but it’s somehow reluctant to freeze. I chose the minimum power, because a device of this power can still be connected to a 220V network (more powerful ones are connected only to a 380V network, but I don’t have such an opportunity in my house). Yes, and electricity prices also bite. Very easy installation and no fuss with the chimney. Looks nice, takes up minimal space. Installed and connected by myself in just four hours. The boiler is well made. Water is heated in a cylindrical heat exchanger made of high-quality corrosion-resistant steel 4 mm thick. Copper imported tubular electric heaters are evenly distributed throughout the heat exchanger in the upper and lower parts. There is a soft start system, the meaning of which is to delay the supply of voltage to different groups of heating elements. It turns out that full power does not turn on immediately, but is achieved by a smooth increase in one and a half to two minutes. Thus, at the start, network “automatic machines” do not fly out from a sharp current surge. In general, the power of the boiler can be adjusted in steps of 1, 2 and 2.7 kW, which allows you to save electricity. An important difference between this electric boiler and many others is that after a power outage, it completely restores its work and “remembers” all the settings. Given the ever-rising electricity prices, now an electric boiler is not very profitable. high-quality Czech copper heating elements. in addition, to extend their service life, there is a soft start system - the first minutes after switching on, the boiler operates at a minimum. reliable heat exchanger made of high quality stainless steel. smooth power adjustment. multi-stage power variation is possible with an advanced semiconductor control system. it can turn off individual heating elements or smoothly adjust their power. in a built-in two-speed powerful circulation pump. the maximum working pressure of the pump is up to 5 meters and at the same time it is so quiet that you need to listen to hear it. moreover, when the heating elements are turned off, the pump does not stop immediately, but works for some time in the overrun mode, providing cooling of the heaters. Another plus is that a deaerator is built into the pump. it is possible to link the operation of the boiler with the weather. you bring the sensor outside and the control system will work according to the external temperature. built-in 7-liter expansion tank. there is frost protection. expensive. still, production in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is good in terms of quality, but in terms of price, the option is not the best. like all electric boilers with programme control, you need a good voltage stabilizer. Otherwise, you may lose your warranty. use Protherm Skat 18K month or more |
After switching on, it works for another one and a half minutes at minimum power. Yes, and then the increase in power occurs smoothly.
All data about the operation of the boiler are displayed on the display. And I'm not only talking about the current mode of operation or water temperature, but also all sorts of errors. This is a plus, of course, only the display itself is very small, and the necessary data, except for the temperature, is displayed in the form of a code, which you need to decrypt using the instructions or the Internet. During operation, it does not make noise, as is sometimes the case with boilers. If you connect an external air temperature sensor, the boiler itself can regulate the power of operation depending on the air temperature in the apartment. It simplifies the operation a little, since you less often approach it to twist it. It's not cheap by today's standards. I think it's because of all the electronics and automation.
One circuit. I understand that I specially selected one to save money, but if it could be connected to the heating system and to the warm floor, then in general there would be no price for it. |

The products of the Czech company Protherm are popular in all European countries due to their high performance, compactness and rich functionality. The Skat 12K electric boiler is a profitable equipment for space heating at a price of about $600.
Appearance
The boiler is made in a strict modern design — white colour, a small control panel, a company logo on the front panel of the device. The protective casing is enameled on the outside, so it does not rust, looks good in combination with household appliances, and has thermal insulation on the inside to reduce heat loss.
The size of the boiler 740x410x240 mm is almost the same as that of other models of this class, but the weight is much higher — 34 kg. This is explained by the presence, in addition to the circulation pump, of an expansion tank of 10 liters.
It's a pleasure to use
The unit is equipped with two copper open heating elements with a power of 6 kW each, they can be turned on separately or together, depending on what temperature in the room you need to get. The temperature in the system is regulated from 30 to 85 °C, which allows you to heat a room up to 120 square metres.
Useful extras
In addition to protection against water overheating, the boiler is equipped with power outage protection — after power is supplied, it will turn on automatically without user intervention. When the temperature drops to 5 °C , the ignition will turn on and the system will be protected from freezing of the liquid in the circuit. The water circulation protection function will instantly cut off the electricity supply, and individual parts of the equipment will not overheat. All faults are identified by the self-diagnosis function and shown on the display.
In conclusion, we can say that the Skat 12K electric boiler is worth the money, as it not only does an excellent job of heating rooms, but also does it as safely as possible.
