The Tiki Prime 80 V9 boiler heats water using a copper "wet" heating element with a power of 2000 W. The steel storage tank, coated with enamel on the inside to protect the metal, holds 73 liters of liquid. A full tank of water heats up from 10 °C to 65 °C in 2 hours and 20 minutes. The boiler retains heat well due to the fact that it has a fairly thick layer of thermal insulation (23 mm) made of foamed polyurethane. Anti-corrosion protection is provided by a magnesium anode.
The device looks like an almost perfectly correct cylindrical "barrel". The only small "decorations" on its surface are a thermometer (it shows the water temperature very conditionally) and a red light (it lights up when the heating element is on). There is nothing else on the outside of the boiler. There is not even a thermostat. The boiler is set at the factory to operate in one and only "economy" mode, in which it always heats tap water to 65 ° C. To change the factory settings, you will have to remove the cover of the panel covering the electrical part and climb to the thermostat with a screwdriver(but the manufacturer does not recommend doing this). The boiler can only be turned off by pulling the cord out of the socket. By the way, the cord itself is not included in the kit. The device only comes with a mounting strip for hanging the water heater on the wall, and the power cable must be purchased separately.
Tiki boilers are a "budget" line of water heaters, which are manufactured at the production facilities of the Gorenje company. They have only the basic "stuffing" necessary to perform their only function - heating water for household needs. But, despite the low price, the boilers of this brand have very decent quality and a long warranty on the tank (in this case - 7 years).

The Atlantic Steatite VM 80 D400-2-BC water heater looks like a regular household electric boiler. In fact, despite some elegance (the French pedigree of the Atlantic company is evident), there is nothing special about it from the outside - a typical cylindrical boiler with a mechanical regulator and a round pointer temperature indicator. And the characteristics are quite ordinary: 1500 W power and heating water to a maximum possible 65 ° C in 2 hours 45 minutes. But under the snow-white glossy body there is a lot of interesting things. Immediately under the plastic shell there is a layer of effective thermal insulation made of high-density polyurethane foam. It “envelops” a steel tank that holds 75 liters of liquid (enough to provide hot water for an average family). The tank is made of fairly thick steel (1.8 mm) and covered with enamel, which prevents direct contact of the metal with water, protecting the tank from corrosion.
The most remarkable parts of the boiler are hidden inside the tank. There is a magnesium anode, which helps the water heater serve longer, and a “dry” heating element. The dry heating element, developed and patented by Atlantic, is a steel flask, inside which there is a set of several heating spirals and a couple of dozen steatite blocks. This design of the heating element provides faster heating of water (even in comparison with standard tubular “dry” elements, not to mention “wet” heating elements) and significantly reduces the possibility of developing corrosion processes that destroy the boiler tank from the inside. A combination of three protective systems (enamel, anode and “dry” heating element) plus other solutions (for example, a dielectric coupling on the hot water pipe) allow the manufacturer to give an 8-year warranty on the tank of this boiler (among Atlantic water heaters, only a few models have such a long warranty) and 2 years on the electrical part. It should be noted that warranty obligations are maintained only under the condition of regular and timely service maintenance. However, the boiler can be cleaned not every year (as with most other water heaters), but once every 2 years due to the fact that less scale forms in the tanks of devices with "dry" heating elements. Therefore, Atlantic Steatite VM 80 D400-2-BC is especially well suited for regions with hard water.

With two heating elements with a total power of 1800 W, the Hotpoint-Ariston BLU1 ECO 80V 1.8K PL DRY boiler heats 80 liters of water in 2 hours 11 minutes. This heating rate and this tank volume are considered sufficient for a family of 2-4 people to calmly wash dishes or take a shower without limiting themselves in hot water consumption. Using the control panel, you can set the desired liquid temperature in the range from 40 ° C to 80 ° C. The heating elements are "dry". They do not directly contact water. The use of "dry" heating elements in boilers slows down the development of electrochemical corrosion processes and significantly reduces the amount of scale inside the tank. Additional protection against corrosion is provided by the "branded" titanium enamel on the tank walls and an enlarged magnesium anode. The manufacturer is confident in the effectiveness of these solutions, so it provides a 7-year warranty on the tank.
Below the tank is a control panel with touch buttons and signal LEDs. In addition to manual temperature control, it allows you to activate the T-MAX function (single heating of water to 65 °C with subsequent return to the previous mode) or turn on the ECO EVO mode. In the "smart" ECO EVO mode, the boiler studies your hot water usage schedule and optimizes its operation in such a way as to reduce energy consumption. This function allows you to reduce electricity consumption by up to 14% (however, the final result depends on the life schedule and habits of a particular family). It should be noted that the buttons on the control panel do not have a tactile "feedback", which is why it is sometimes difficult to understand whether the button has been pressed or not. In addition, managing advanced settings is not entirely obvious. For example, to figure out how to turn off the "anti-legionella" functions, you need to reread the instructions from cover to cover.

Under the body of the Gorenje GBF 80 SMV9 boiler, made in the form of a classic white cylinder, there is a 76-liter tank. Between it and the body there is a layer of finely dispersed polyurethane foam, which retains heat well. Looking inside the tank (for example, during cleaning, which is recommended to be done once a year), you can find an enamel coating on the inner walls of the tank, a magnesium anode and two tubes with "dry" heating elements. Each heating element has a power of 1000 W (thus, the total power of the boiler is 2000 W). Despite the fact that there are two heaters, there is no way to manually turn them on separately (only the automatic system can do this, which will be discussed below).
On the front of the snow-white body, a dark rectangle stands out visually - an electronic control unit (for tech who prefer the "classics", a similar boiler in characteristics Gorenje GBF 80 UA with a regular mechanical wheel is produced, which is slightly cheaper). There are two physical buttons on the panel. One of them allows you to change the temperature settings by multiple clicks. Focus on the icons indicating different modes: the "palm" corresponds to a temperature of 35 ° C, the word Eco - economical 57 ° C, and wavy lines - the maximum possible 75 ° C. The second button activates the "smart" mode. It works like this: for a week, the device "monitors" your habits and remembers at what time and in what volume you use hot water. Then it optimizes its work so as not to waste unnecessary electricity. According to measurements conducted by the manufacturer, this water heater saves about 17% with the “smart” mode turned on (however, it should be noted that “ideal” cases are considered during measurements, and in practice, savings are usually less). Due to the “smart” automation, the Gorenje GBF 80 SMV9 boiler belongs to class B in energy consumption (most water heaters of the same volume belong to class C - one step lower). The control panel also allows you to turn on the “anti-freeze” mode - the boiler will keep the water barely warm (about 10 ° C) so that it does not freeze. But the “anti-legionella” function (heating water for a couple of hours to a temperature of 70 ° C to guarantee the destruction of harmful bacteria in the tank) works completely automatically, it is impossible to turn it off.
When talking about the electronic control panel (which, by the way, is used on many modern Gorenje boilers), we cannot ignore several facts. Let's start with the pleasant: its LEDs are quite bright. If the heater is installed in the bathroom, you can calmly go to the toilet at night without turning on the overhead light. The unpleasant features include unclear temperature indication. Since the same "ladder" of LEDs is used both to set the temperature and to display its current value, it is difficult to understand what exactly it shows when the customer presses the buttons. In addition, many are irritated by the lack of a heating indicator - it is unclear whether the device is currently heating water or not (after all, it works almost silently, and it is difficult to determine this by sound). It should also be borne in mind that the Gorenje GBF 80 SMV9 boiler is usually sold in online stores without a power cable - you need to independently buy a wire of the required length (with a cross-section of at least 1.5 mm2) and correctly connect it to the terminals. However, these minor shortcomings are completely offset by the fact that the tank of this heater is covered by a huge warranty - as much as 10 years (and the electrical part - 2 years). Such a long warranty period indicates that the manufacturer is firmly confident in the durability and reliability of its products.

The Tesy ModEco Cloud GCV 804724D C22 ECW boiler has a fairly high power (2400 W). Therefore, it heats water quickly - in 1 hour 47 minutes, 82 liters of tap water are heated from 15 ° C to 60 ° C. A "dry" ceramic heating element is responsible for heating. Corrosion protection is provided by a magnesium anode and a glass-ceramic coating applied to the inner surfaces of the tank. The steel parts of which the storage tank is made are connected to each other using plasma welding. The manufacturer claims that the combination of these technologies provides increased reliability of welded seams and effective protection against corrosion processes inside the boiler. He is so confident in this that he gives a 7-year warranty on the tank.
The most interesting thing is not inside the tank, but underneath it — in the electronic control unit. The boiler is “stuffed” to the brim with various functions that allow you to customize the operation of the device and save electricity. For example, the water heater has three “economical” operating modes at once, one of which is “smart”. In the “smart” mode, the boiler studies your habits and consumption volumes to create an optimal water heating program. You can also program the heater to operate at certain hours and days manually through the control panel with an LED display. The “brains” of the boiler also have a Boost function (one-time heating of water to 75 ° C without changing other settings) and a “vacation” mode (for a specified number of days, the device will not heat water at all, so as not to waste electricity when you are away). All of the above settings can even be controlled via the Internet. To do this, you need to set up the Wi-Fi module and install the tesyCloud application on your smartphone(there are versions for Android and iOS operating systems).
Due to the abundance of electronics and "smart" functions, the Tesy ModEco Cloud GCV 804724D C22 ECW boiler turned out to be a bit expensive. But due to the possibility of fine-tuning and thanks to the energy efficiency of class B(a very good indicator by the standards of electric water heaters) throughout the entire life cycle, the device should "pay off" its cost due to reduced energy consumption if you use the "economical" modes, and not manually adjust the water temperature in the tank.
