This brushless drill driver is a member of the Metabo family of compact cordless tools powered by 10.8 V batteries. The device is lightweight (0.9 kg) and compact in size (155x196x59 mm). The keyless chuck allows the use of tooling with round (diameter 1 to 10 mm) and hex shanks. Adjusting the clutch with a setting ring allows you to select one of 20 torque levels (up to 38 Nm). Thanks to the brushless motor, this tool is very compact. The length from the front of the cartridge to the “back of the head” of the case is only 150 mm (16 mm less than that of the “predecessor” Metabo PowerMaxx BS Basic with a traditional motor design). In addition to compactness, the screwdriver attracts attention with its low weight (only 0.9 kg, taking into account the weight of the complete battery). Therefore, it is great for working overhead or in tight spaces. Thanks to the same brushless motor, the manufacturer managed to increase the torque to 38 Nm (this is about 15% - 20% more than other small 12-volt cordless screwdrivers). The tightening force is adjustable with a 20-position clutch. The gearbox has two speeds (the rotational speed of the cartridge can be changed from zero to 400 rpm at the first speed and up to 1500 rpm at the second). Therefore, Metabo PowerMaxx BS BL can be used both for working with fasteners (the manufacturer recommends limiting yourself to screws and self-tapping screws up to 6 mm in diameter), and for drilling (working with wood drills up to 32 mm in diameter and 10 mm metal drills is allowed). The screwdriver has a backlight with an afterglow function (the light stays on for about 10 seconds after the button is released) and is equipped with electronic motor protection that does not allow the motor to burn out when overloaded.

The chuck of this tool is a keyless chuck. It can hold hex bits and drills with a diameter of 1 - 10 mm.
