bought this drive as an additional one purely for gaming, as the system is on another. so far, completely satisfied, everything launches within seconds, installation and file exchange are noticeably faster compared to the old HDD. of course, the volume of 500GB is just for a start, but for the price, it's a very good choice, considering it's also from a well-known brand. data transfer speed, availability of official software, absence of any issues with the connection: simply connected it with SATA, formatted, and it is ready to work. not revealed yet  Yulіya T: use Samsung MZ-77E500B/EU less than month |
The disk was tested by me, and there's a link to the test below. Briefly on the conclusions: In the linear write test, the starting speed is 493 Mb/s, after the SLC cache is full, the speed drops to 317 Mb/s, and then rises to 350 Mb/s. This is a good result, although it does not meet the stated specifications. The SLC cache is about 5% of the total disk capacity, which is approximately 25GB. This is quite a high indicator. It's unlikely you'll need to write data up to 25 GB every day, so you're not likely to notice the cache's effect. The maximum temperature during all tests was 45 degrees. This is a very low indicator. Actually, I already wrote a review for this drive on DNS on 02/23/2021. I was simply surprised by the previous reviews here. That's the only reason why I decided to share my own experience. And don't get me wrong, I'm not a marketer. It's just that the people here writing about low speeds are probably doing something wrong! Maybe they got a bad batch. Or perhaps competitors are purposely writing negative things about this device. I've been using this 2TB Evo drive for a year now. The speeds match the claimed specifications. And if you enable the Rapid mode option, the synthetic tests show very impressive numbers. In practice, the speeds remain the same, plus it uses up RAM. It's very cool, and I use it for all sorts of stuff: torrents, games, movies. In the screenshots, I showed speeds with and without Rapid mode enabled.
