The fifth generation PlayStation game console is notable for its futuristic appearance and powerful electronic “hardware” at the level of today's top gaming PCs. “Under the hood” of the set-top box is a custom eight-core processor based on the AMD Zen 2 architecture. A 825 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD was developed specifically for the model. The basic modification of the Sony PlayStation 5 has an optical drive. The picture from the set-top box can be displayed on the screen in a maximum resolution of 4K. Also, the model did not do without HDR support, which improves the quality of colour reproduction, makes the image more realistic and enhances the impression of complete immersion in what is happening. The Japanese manufacturer has equipped the device with modern Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth wireless modules. The accessory park for the fifth generation model is painted in the same branded white and black colours as the console itself. The gamepad, headphones, remote control, dual camera and charging station are made in the same style with it.

The set-top box is subject to a vertical “parking” method and has HDMI, USB 3.2 gen 1 (1 pcs.), USB 3.2 gen 2 (2 pcs.), LAN, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth connection interfaces. Additionally, backwards compatibility with PS4 games is reported.

The Slim index in the title describes one of the key differences from the original Playstation 4 — a thinner and more compact body. But there is no fundamental difference between this model and its predecessor. So, the Sony PlayStation 4 Slim game console received Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless modules, the processor became somewhat more powerful, but the RAM volumes and graphics card performance remained the same — they are, however, quite enough for FullHD games with high detail.

True to its name, this model is a further development and improvement of the advanced desktop console PlayStation 4, modified to meet the top class for the fall of 2016. One of the most striking practical differences from its predecessor was support for 4K video; this became possible primarily due to a new video accelerator with an almost 2.5-fold increase in performance. Processor — also improved, although of the same family — AMD Jaguar; this allowed to keep the amount of RAM at 8 GB.

A game console released in 2013 that continues the PlayStation line of desktop consoles. Like the third version, it is equipped with an 8-core processor, but in this case it is an AMD Jaguar, and the amount of RAM has been increased to 8 GB. The design provides a 500 GB drive, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports. Sony PlayStation 4 supports all major optical disc formats up to Blu-ray. Also worth noting is the integration with the Vita portable console, including the ability to use as a controller.
