AMD Ryzen 7 Vermeer 5800X OEM price graph

Model overview based on user reviews
The AMD 5800X OEM processor is highly valued for its exceptional performance, efficient cooling, and overall price-to-quality ratio for users seeking a powerful CPU for gaming and productivity. Although it requires a good motherboard and can overheat under load, many users find it stable and reliable. The ease of installation and automatic overclocking features further enhance its appeal. However, potential buyers should be cautious with delicate contacts and consider their cooling solutions to maximize performance. Overall, the AMD 5800X is a strong competitor in the high-performance CPU market.

wonderful processor

Upgraded from Ryzen 5 2600 because I got a graphics card (Radeon RX 6600) which was underutilized when the CPU was working at 95-100%, and added 16 GB of RAM. I felt a significant performance boost, as this CPU is twice as powerful as my old one, and the graphics card finally works as it should. However, this CPU still deserves an even better graphics card :D. For cooling, I have a simple liquid cooler with one fan; it shows 50-55 degrees Celsius at idle, and under heavy gaming load, I've seen a maximum of 85 degrees. I adjusted the fan speed on the pump so it makes a bit less noise, but the CPU runs hotter because I dislike noise. I think reducing the temperature to 80 degrees could be achievable. I haven't done any overclocking since the performance is more than sufficient, but I know it overclocks very well. The packaging is interesting - a huge box containing just the CPU, taking up 15% of the space, which looks odd. Installation went smoothly, which I love about AMD; they don't come up with new sockets like Intel does every month, so you don't need to change your motherboard for 5 years. It booted up on the first try without any issues, and I've been using it for 5 months, very satisfied.
great features for this price

Take it, since this is the last percent on AM4 and give new life to the socket.

Cost of cooler Deepcool AS500 + Asus Strix B550F
The cooler does not reach 70 - 80 in games in most cases
There are temperatures in games of 85-90 degrees
Yes, there are 65-70 in games, but there are few of them
Power consumption 120-130 watts under load for all cores, frequency 4.1Hz
Single core up to 4550 MHz
Performance level 12900K / 13600K / 7700X / 7600X
20% worse than 7800X3D
Set it to 2K or 4K and the gap will be minimal, so the emphasis is on the card
Temperatures, you need a more powerful cooler or dropsy, drops to 30 degrees with dropsy

miraculous model, already vouchsafed

Zagalom is a good percentage for an average system, for me, paired with 3070, everything works fine. It is clear that the actions of the game will continue to push against him. For me, with Assassin's Creed Valhala, it's not critical because I'm cutting off my 90 frames.

Almost a flagship

At the end of October 2020, AMD again tried to turn the game around by introducing a completely new family of Ryzen Vermeer processors on the new Zen 3 core. previous generation) and are ready to break behind the progress of Intel processors.

8 cores, 16 threads, turbo boost up to 4.7 GHz

The hero of this review, the Ryzen 7 5800X, is technically a mid-ranger, but it is quite expensive and demonstrates outstanding performance, which in some reviews it was aptly called "a mid-range processor with flagship habits." The chip is equipped with 8 multi-threaded Zen 3 cores, 32MB L3 cache, and a dual-channel DDR4-3200 controller. Its base frequency is 3.8 GHz, which can be boosted up to 4.7 GHz. The nominal TDP of the processor is 105 W, and they ask for about $500 for this good. Although 3-4 years ago it was a normal price for some quad-core from Intel.

Beats the more expensive Core i9-10900K

Now from words to deeds. In single-threaded mode, the Ryzen 7 5800X outperforms the ten-core flagship Core i9-10900K by 8%, which is sold in stores for almost $200 more. Impressive? Definitely. In multi-threaded tests for archiving, compiling, mathematical operations and rendering, Ryzen's advantage grows to 15% in some places. However, in some tests, the Intel chip retains a slight advantage. In gaming tests, there is no trace of the former advantage of Intel either, both processors go head to head, and the gap between them does not exceed 3%. At the same time, in addition to the price, 2 such remarkable factors play on the AMD side, such as a lower TDP and synergy with new Radeon video cards based on the RDNA 2 core. somewhere plus 10% to the overall system performance just like that. It's like I put together a set of clothes in some RPG.
