In terms of the "quality-functionality-price" ratio, this device has had no equal since it was first launched. For several years now, a search with this set of features yields 6-9 smartphones, of which typically 3-5 devices are only anticipated and not actually available for sale, and the search results have been consistently like this since 2019. Among the available for sale, the most affordable is the Note 8T (3/32GB) - around 10,000 rubles, while prices for the others start at about twice that amount. And other versions of Note 8T with more memory are also always much lower in price compared to other technically comparable models. About the downsides... This isn't really a drawback, as we had to accept it in advance: due to the presence of NFC - and it was crucial that the smartphone had it - Xiaomi had to certify this device for Google Pay. This is why the default Xiaomi dialer, which includes automatic and silent call recording, was replaced with Google's dialer. The Google dialer later featured call recording in MIUI 12, but it wasn't automatic and involved notifying the other party. Since the reduced call recording functionality in this model was essentially imposed, one could say that the Note 8T is impeccable. The feature set, including: 4K camera with Slow mo, NFC, fingerprint scanner, 2 SIM slots + separate memory card slot, support for GLONASS, and an IR-port, is scarce across just a few models. Finding all of this in a smartphone priced around ten thousand is incredibly fortunate that such a phone is even made, and criticizing this device is rather, umm... short-sighted. )) By the way, Google's dialer has a noticeable advantage - it comes with a decent built-in anti-spam feature that cuts spam better than the "neberitrybku" app. It's some form of compensation for not being able to use the Xiaomi dialer with recording. Affordable youth smartphone
Xiaomi's Redmi line is aimed primarily at young people who are not ready to pay big money, but at the same time want to get modern chips from a smartphone like a dual camera, a gradient back panel or fast charging. This smartphone is the new Redmi Note 8T. By the way, if you are confused in the intricacies of the Xiaomi lineup, then here's a simple hint for you: Note 8T differs from the usual Redmi Note 8 by the presence of an NFC. Snapdragon 665
The heart of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 665 chip with Adreno 610 graphics. Different versions of the model differ in memory kits, where the minimum is 3/32 GB, and the maximum is 4/128 GB. In this case, we have a sweet spot with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, which is usually enough for most users. Still, this is not a 2K video camera phone that needs a lot of built-in memory. There is also a slot for a memory card, which takes the place of the second SIM-card. In general, the hardware is more than enough for any day-to-day operations with a smartphone – web surfing, streaming video and audio, GPS navigation, etc. It may turn out to be weak in some of the most demanding games or applications.
Large frameless screen
The Redmi Note 8T has a 6.3-inch IPS screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels (pixel density is at 409 PPI). By default, the screen shows an average colour gamut and a slight bias towards cold shades, which can be corrected in the settings. In general, the screen is pleasant, without any obvious pluses and minuses.
Plastic and glass
Other features of the model include support for Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging, a high-quality front camera (and don’t let the 13 MP resolution bother you), an infrared port that allows you to turn your smartphone into a universal remote “for everything” in the house, a capacious 4000 mAh battery and a fashionable back cover with iridescent gradient fill. Moreover, the lid is glass, not plastic, like many competing models. And the main camera for 4 lenses is head and shoulders above 90% of competitors in the niche up to $200.
