Perfect bokeh
The 100mm fix is not like everyone else. This is indicated by the prefix STF in the full name of the model. Smooth Trans Focus technology allows you to get the perfect bokeh by adding a special apodization element (APD) to the complex optical scheme of the lens. It works in the manner of a gradient neutral filter, making the edges of the circles in the blur zone soft. Together with the 11-blade aperture structure, the lens draws a truly fabulous bokeh.
Internal hardware
The trade-off for perfect background blur was low light transmission, similar to f/5.6. The optical image stabilization system is designed to compensate for the lack of light. In addition, the all-protected lens body hides a smart autofocus drive under the outer “wrapper”.
