I bought it by accident, and eventually it became my favorite lens on the Sony system. I purchased it for the Sony a6000 several years ago, without much knowledge and without many options at the time. I got it with a "backup" in mind. That's how it turned out. Years later, after changing 3 cameras, I still use it on the A7s and a7III for video and photography. Excellent level of detail. I recently tested the a7rIV with a 60MP sensor and after reviewing the shots with the 55mm f1.8, I realized it's too early to change the lens. Fast, compact (especially compared to the monsters from Sigma). Price tag. I love this lens, excellent detail and sharpness. Every eyelash is visible. I use it with a Sony A7III, and the speed and accuracy of the autofocus continue to delight. An excellent fix for the sevens - light and compact with excellent detail, focus speed, and design. It's one of those "fetishistic" items - it simply must be had for pleasure! For the joy of shooting! Weight, size, high detail, focusing speed, beautiful drawing. Lack of a stabilizer, but all sevens, starting with the second version, have a built-in matrix stabilizer, so I think we can put up with its absence. The price is a little cheaper. At the same time, the high resolution of the lens coexists perfectly with soft and picturesque bokeh. The picture in the blur zone near the lens is amazingly calm.
