In terms of the equivalent of a full frame, the focal length of the lens is 24-75 mm, which is a suitable option for diverse shooting scenes. When folded, the Sony 16-50mm f / 3.5-5.6 E OSS is very similar to compact "pancakes" - this is what the common people call lenses with a small body length (29.9 mm in this particular case).
When working with the model, the rim of the case slightly moves forward. The optical design of the zoom lens contains 9 elements in 8 groups and is reinforced by the traditional 7 blade diaphragm design. The low floating aperture of the f / 3.5-5.6 model is compensated by the optical image stabilization system with the claimed efficiency up to 4 shutter speeds. The lens is also equipped with an electromechanical zoom. The Power Zoom WT slider is additionally placed on the body of the model. The diameter of the front filter on the lens is 40.5 mm. The universal zoom adds about 116 g to the weight of the camera.

One of the adequate universal lenses to start with. I took it along with the camera. It’s convenient that there is a wide angle and not a large zoom. The lens has a built-in zoom motor, and it is convenient to use it on a Steadicam, controlling the zoom from the handle. The lens is optimally suited for beginners. Its universal focal length, presence of a stabilizer, and low price when purchased with a camera make it easier to start working with the camera. I rarely use this lens; I bought it as a kit with the A6000. For such parameters, the image quality is pleasing, and I don't believe that kit lenses only produce defects. The focal length is universal, allowing for both interior shots and portraits. As a backup lens, it is worth the money. The compactness of the lens is immediately noticeable, making it easy to fit the camera in a pocket or bag. It features a power zoom lever (transfocator) that allows for smooth focusing during photo and video shooting without jerks. The lens has an optical image stabilizer, allowing for shooting at longer exposures without blurring. At the wide-angle, the image is sharp across almost the entire frame, while at maximum zoom, sharpness slightly diminishes at the corners. The aperture of f/3.5-5.6 is standard for such lenses, offering a balance of price and quality.
