Two or three years ago, purely Chinese brands of air conditioners were noticeably cheaper than others, but now they have leveled in price. And this didn't happen by chance. The level of functionality and quality of such brands as Midea or Gree has significantly increased, so giving them a discount is not feasible now. My daughter, who works in an electronics megastore, told me all this, and she was told by a salesperson from the "climate" department. He also advised getting such an inverter model from Gree. Price-wise, it is a bit steep, I was hoping for something cheaper, but I followed the advice and bought it. It has been in operation for a month and a half, it became hot here in May, and so far, I can speak about it only in superlatives. Since it's installed in the bedroom, I'll start with the main point – it cools excellently and knows how to do it quietly. At the fan's maximum, there's a bit of noise, of course, but why run it at maximum when it handles well anyway. There’s a special mode for sleep in which you can't hear it at all. It can not only cool but also heat the air in the room, and it can do this even in frosty weather. It allows for operation both in manual mode and "automatic", and its automatic programs are great, quiet, and quickly cool the room. It filters the air not only mechanically but also with an electrostatic filter. It can operate at low mains voltage, which is not uncommon in our network. The Change Pro series of the Chinese manufacturer Gree includes four devices with similar capabilities, but with different capacities — for working in rooms of 26, 35, 52 and 64 square metres. m. Distinctive features of the line are the ability to work at low temperatures (up to -15 °C) and the affordable price inherent in most Chinese models. Full readiness for frost
Thanks to its special design, the GWH09KF-K3DNA5G will endure the winter without any problems: the outdoor unit is protected from icing and is equipped with a “winter” kit. Frost protection does not guarantee 100% results, but there will be fewer icicles on the air conditioner than usual. Thanks to the winter set, the device, unlike others, can even work in the "cooling" mode in cold weather. Finally, Gree in the standby heating mode will not allow the room to overcool. This is true if the heating does not work stably in it or it does not exist at all.
Everyone has their flaws
GWH09KF-K3DNA5G has a couple of weaknesses when compared with competitors. Gree will use about 30% more energy to cool and heat than more advanced devices. The minimum noise level (25 dB), though not much, but still higher than that of expensive models. The difference is negligible — just a couple of dB.
